BTW what'd you think of Layers of Influence? I really enjoyed it. I never thought that much honey character could come through in a stout, let alone a barrel aged stout, and be so enjoyable.

 

Thought the honey flavor was nice, but it was a very sweet. If the sweetness was dialed back a bit I would have enjoyed it more.

 

Had a bottle of Arcane Rituals tonight. Have had a few bottles of this before and, man, is it always a treat to revisit. What an incredible and complex barleywine. Truly one of the best beers I’ve ever had. I hope there are plans to revisit this beer in the future, or at least a barleywine of the same caliber.

I had a bottle of Adjust for Altitude over the weekend. I really. really enjoyed that one. Didn't seem to get the usual BL BBA love.

 

Did you ever have Byzantine Vision? If so, how does this compare?

 

Glad to hear. I picked another bottle of this as it was still available, but the main reason I went was for Jam the Radar. Heard good things about "Adjust for Altitude" but for some reason, not everyone is feeling the love for this one. I will try this weekend.

FYI: Jam the Radar was selling fast. Owner pretty confident to buy now and don't wait, doubtful it will last come Wednesday.

 

how's the sweetness level on this one? my local shop still has bottles of this, but I was hesitant because I find too many of BL stouts to be way overly sweet, and I f'n hate marshmallows! So I passed.

 

Ha! I might be the wrong person to ask because I LOVE the sweetness! LOL...I have solodomed 2 bottles and brought one to a share and I have noticed over time that the marshmallow sweetness has mellowed out a bit. I have one more bottle I am sitting on for science!

This is easily in my top three of Bottle Logic Stouts from last year, behind Hypermash Hydra and Ghost Proton...but, like I said I love the sweet chocolate/coconut/vanilla/marshmallow vibes so I may be biased!
