Monkish Brewing (2021)

I'm hyped. Back to back wins on Monkish bottles.

 

I was able to snag 2. Haven't hit on a Monkish bottle since the Fruit Cart days...

 

COVID has made my refreshing and clicking skills rusty. Sold out when I finalized the payment details.

 

with the release of the barleywine and the stout, I wonder if there will be other anniversary releases this week? The mention of Fruit Cart above gave me a Proustian flashback to said beer and Juteux, both of which I either missed last year or they weren't released in 2020. Still, though, a sour/Belgian would be nice

 

They always seem to do a fruited sour for their anniversary so I bet there is one coming this week.

I would imagine they’ll do a non BA bottled stout as well.

M9.5 Saison W/ Apricots
A collaboration with Side Project Brewing. Barrel-aged Wild Ale conditioned on Pluots (Plum and Apricot hybrid fruit) 7.0% ABV. Released 3/11/2021

 

So we are still awaiting 9.4, 9.6, 9.7, 9.8 and 9.9 ... 5 drops over the next 2 days I would assume??

 

I'm hoping we get one non BA stout out of those numbers that are left. And 9.2, 9.3 last until tomorrow. I can't get over there today.

One of the brewers about 2 weeks back teased what looked like a stout being conditioned on a bunch of coconut on his Instagram. It would be nice to finally get an actual bottle release of non-BA Little Twin Stars. But I guess in retrospect that could have just been M9.1 being conditioned before bottling.

 

Expensive Monkish week.

 

Looks like the beers for this week stop at M9.5, not going up to 9.9.

 

why stop at 9.5? figure they will eventually hit 9.9 ... don’t understand the logic of the series if it stops at 9.5 #DeepThoughts LOL

I wonder if Monkish spent this year during the pandemic working on the tasting room expansion they announced last year. Did they even have the bandwidth/resources to work on it?

 

Struck out on Modern Times lotto crowlers again so I shall console myself with another Monkish mixed case.

 

I’m sure this has been asked before, but does Monkish brew the same base beer and just swap the dry hops or is there more to it than that?

 

I know sometimes they list that oats are swapped for wheat.

 

Stopped myself from getting another case. It’s way too easy to get Monkish now but I am merely one man. Wish they sold half cases but I realize that’s be twice as much work.
