What beer are you drinking now? #3065

Wow, I haven't seen that one around in a while.

 

Here I go with my first of only 2 porters to choose from. Here is a ToøL Black Ball Porter 2013.

On the nose a quick whiff of liquorice that settles down to dark roast and chocolate. Even cold a big attack on the front of roasted crackers and cocoa nibs. Middle is heavy roast and the finish tapers off like burnt toffee and some surprising pith bitterness. This one has held up very nicely in the cellar, too bad it's my only bottle.


Hey Beer-Panda, you like Bombino? This is the album that got my into contemporary African music, there is so much great stuff out there!

 

Love that porter. I don't understand the logo change. I'm not really feeling the new logo. I'm not opposed to change, I just thought the old label was classic.

Three straight days of deck sitting. Not continuously, of course; you know what I mean.


Little more chilly today, so a triple IPA from Ocelot seemed an okay choice - Talking Backwards. This is one of their best beers.

 

That's so awesome! A have boy and girl twins myself. They are 22 now, but I remember those infant days! Exhausts me thinking about it!

 

Face Palm moment - meant to buy their Porter and instead picked up their "sweet stout"
Oh well....thankfully (this is delicious) I have a couple porters for tomorrow to participate in the tasting.

Asian Style smoked leg quarters just about ready. It Miller time again.

 

With less on the grill, you can concentrate more on the beer. I am feeding five over here though...Cheers!

Is that a pellet smoker? Looks like a nice setup...want something like that one day to go along with my lil' Smokey Mtn.

Nope just a chipper. Its not bad I kind of call it cheating. Im used to the big boys. Like this New Braunfels smoker. Works well to make it fairly easy. Couldnt use the big un today even if I wanted. Waaaay too windy.
