Yeah, during the first year or so of Prohibition the Volstead Act did allow physicians to write prescriptions for beer (and, as you note, wine and spirits) but all the references to beer I've ever found mention bottled beer, not draught. But soon after, the Willis-Campbell Act was passed by Congress in 1921:
I do not really "remember" this since at the time my liquid intact was limited to mother's and cow's milk. But during that period, I learned to read, and the Willis-Cambpell Act was well-reported in the newspapers of the day and Pop was keepin' a scrapbook...[IMG]

Now, I'm one of those ballbusters who find some geeks' habit of calling beer "hops" annoying as all hell. Who knew it was over a century old?
(Still drives me crazy, tho' :grimacing:).

Maybe discuss a side-by-side taste test? This would be perfect for New Beer Weekend this weekend.

    Cheers!

If I were you, I would use the "Curbside Ordering" function on their website to order ahead (you can schedule the pickup time), since the boxes have been selling out.

Of course I forgot to put in the order over my lunch break and all boxes are sold out. Fingers crossed they put more out soon, hopefully I can get one during my spring break.

That was the initial plan before I saw it’s now sold out!

I’ve never had a beer on cask, I’d be in.

Maybe a side trip to Ambler (Forest & Main) when you come back home to visit (post-pandemic)?

    Cheers!

A Kolsch that I would strongly recommend to you is the Von Trapp Kolsch.

    Cheers!

If you’re still making a F&M trip, then consider their recent take on lager: The newest rendition utilizes Saphir and Saaz, and while they continue with Saphir the previous complements have been Mittelfruh & Hersbrucker

I put the House Lager in my order, I love their lower alcohol beers!

I once had a polypin of London Pride which was excellent. And improved as it got older. Which was maybe 4 or 5 days. It tasted like well-kept cask London Pride to me.

In theory, there's no contact with air, but that isn't really the case. Unless you drink it really slowly you'll get air bubbling up through the tap.

Me, my brother and my two kids polished off a firkin in a weekend. In addition to going to the pub. Not so difficult to achieve, if you're determined and thirsty. And have children with hollow legs.
