Yes, I still think this is one of the best IPAs you can buy without having to go to a brewery.

On to my second. The owner of this brewery is a friend and I call his brewery my local even though it is an hour drive away! He started bottling early covid days and I've only gotten my hands on a couple of bottles as they don't sell it near where I live. First taste I'm thinking something is off as I got chemical and a bit of fruit from a beer that claims champagne inspired brut with mixed fermentation. I think maybe chlorophenol. Oops.

    Don't even think about it!:stuck_out_tongue:

Now that AB IvBev owns them you don't know how happy that I have I think 9 in the cellar!

No glass, the only Unibroue glasses I have are 1 Fin du Monde and 1 Blanche de Chambly.

This is the box, tasty bits.

Back at it with my favorite beer from SingleCut. They don't do often anymore, but it's still their best, IMO. DDH Bon Bon. Peace...

[IMG] Tonight's Beer Tasting Lineup is a Blind Taste Test of Battle Beers! (All beers were correctly identified in the blind tasting)

    1) Guinness Harp Lager (4.5%): A standard Irish Lager from Guinness that has a pale malt, yeast, and slight dry, rubbery flavors.
    versus
    2) Oranjeboom Bierbrouwerij B. V.'s Lager (5.0%): A European Pale lager from the Netherlands that has lemongrass flavors, pale bread malt, and a mild bready finish.

    3) Lagunitas IPA (6.2%): A classic IPA from Lagunitas in Petaluma, California with grapefruit, tangerine, peach, and white grape flavors. A unique flavor profile and leans earthy and sweet for the ABV.
    versus
    4) Super Cluster IPA (8.0%): Another Lagunitas IPA emboldened with the Citra hop. Strong juicy flavors of orange, pineapple, green fruit, and apples. Extremely juicy and leans sweet.

    5) Leinenkugal's Toasted Bock (5.1%): A bock from Leinenkugel's in Wisconsin. It has light and simple brown bread and toast flavors.
    versus
    6) Schell's Bock (6.1%): Another bock from August Schell's in New Ulm, Minnesota. This one has brown malts, banana, toffee, and caramel flavors. Complex malty flavors.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Winners:

    2) Orangeboom Lager: A dynamic European Pale Lager with lemongrass and bready flavors and a steal from Trader Joe's. Harp Lager wasn't as complex.

    4) Super Cluster IPA: This is a strong and sweet, boozy IPA, but I like it. The ABV is just right. It has deliciously strong and juicy flavors. Showcases the delicious Citra hop quite well. Lagunitas IPA is a good beer too, but this was exceptional.

    6) Schell's Bock: Probably wasn't a puzzle to find out the winner here. This bock impressed me finally returning to it this year. Complex dark malts flavors. Some banana and phenolic alcohol esters too.
Leinenkugel's was far too simple and dry. I had higher hopes for that one.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you Agree/Disagree with the ratings?
Which is your go-to Lagunitas IPA? Lagunitas IPA or Super Cluster?
Have you tried Schells Bock? Are you also continuously unimpressed with Leinenkugel's as well? People say this was their best, but I was underwhelmed.

Finishing off my stash of this iconic beer that was my first IPA many moons ago, it still lifts my beer nerd skirt after all these years. World-class stuff, IMHO.
