Sorry @LarryV, I recall that the 35,000 Scoville units pertained to another one he was describing to me. This one is around 45,000. Cheers.

Funny, if I'd seen your post but I didn't so this is what came out of the box next. These are some of my favourite glasses. I remember going to a bar with my father in the town where he grew up. When they served us beer in this style of glass the old man said they were called schooners. I was stoked to see them on a work trip and brought a couple home to remember my father by.

Insomniac thanks for the link for the hot sauce, I'll try to order some when I get some $$. It won't be a replacement for Pomeroy!

A new to me brewery. Still on a porter kick from last week! May never come down
This fella poured with a thick khaki colored head (went to find my phone but got distracted in the process) and has huge flavor of dark roasty malts. Very good beer!

Beer number two. Some crackers with three different hot sauces. A great version of a quintessential Canadian song. Cheers. [IMG] [IMG]

La Cumbre Beer Co. -- Project Dank (Spring 2021) (experimental IPA)

    Original March 27th, 2019 ratings: 4.0 3.75 3.75 4.25 3.75

Fantastic visual appearance; clear, golden yellow body with exquisite carbonation; thick and fluffy white head, bulky and sculpted. Excellent aroma; pine-like, floral, and a touch of tropical fruit. The taste remains much the same; light malt; biscuit-like; strong, phenolic bitterness; faint ester presence. The mouthfeel also remains much the same.

I detected minor improvements in the look and smell of the beer, while the overall taste and mouthfeel remained much along the lines of my initial impressions. I gave a beer a slight tick up in the overall score because of my perceived improvements in the look and smell.
    ------------------
Clear, golden body; thick, stick head; rings of foam cling to the glass. Pine resin and pineapple aroma. Fine light malt base flavor with a prominent hop bitterness; pine resin. Medium body; sticky with a nice prickliness on the palate; mainly dry mouthfeel throughout.

A solid IPA from La Cumbre. There is no information on the can or their web site about ABV or hops used, but it's fair to assume the ABV is around 7.5% like previous versions of Project Dank. The can indicates it was canned on 03/13/19 and is best before 6/11/19 (i.e., CO03/13/19 BB06/11/19 06:56).
