Tonight I had a Weihenstephaner Kristallweissbier and a Dunkel. After I was done with both, I wondered what the result would be if I did a half-and-half.

You are entering the world of cuvee"ing" beers. Tread lightly as this is a small group of peoples....

That aside I can say I have seen a very small sect of people enjoying Black Dog, which is Guinness and 90 min.

Uncle Jacob's stout and rumpkin are brutal together, as are WWS and 120min.

The "Black Slam"(tm): Hopslam and Black Note Stout. That one turned out pretty good.

Edmund Fitzgerald and Ghost Face Killah? Not so much...

    Back in 2017, I tried this combination, though I had no idea Cuvée was a thing. Here was my post;

I've been wanting to do this for a couple of weeks; mix an Avery Nuttiest Professor Peanut Stout and an Atwater Decadent Dark Chocolate Brown Ale. I figured this would taste like a peanut butter cup. The nose is there, and the taste is pretty good too. Both beers have nutty taste. Not bad. If I could review this, I would give the nose a 4.50 and the taste a 4.25.

I've enjoyed drinking a 2:1 blend of FIS (or another good stout) and Rübæus. The sweetness of the latter nicely complements the bitterness of the former.

Ommegang Three Philosophers - their quad, blended with a (cherry) kreik.
Black and tans all day long - either traditional Guinness and Bass or other...

My favorite blend of beers is a Chocolate Pumpkin: Youngs Double Chocolate Stout and a Pumpkin Ale (which is spicy).

    Cheers!

We've done some post bottle share Cuvee's with the remainders. A fun time and sometimes you can really turn some mediocre beers into something surprisingly good.

I typically order a sampler flight when visiting new-to-me breweries, and if the beers are unimpressive I won't finish them. However, I usually pour the remains from each glass into one glass with the hopes that I'll get something spectacular. Nope, hasn't happened yet. Marginal beer only reproduces itself as marginal beer.

I had Harpoon Winter Warmer with their cider. Tasted like an apple pie.It was fantastic.
I haven't seen the Harpoon Cider in quite some time, not sure if it's still around.

Outside of a half and half, I’ve never mixed beers. Impossible right now to find Harp, most places I know closed a majority of their taps because of the reduced business from Covid. If they have 6 open I guarantee 1 in Bud Light, 1 is Yuengling, one is Guinness, they have almost 40 taps.

I haven't blended beers in a little while, but I will do so occasionally - usually when an IPA is just a touch stale, blended with a fresher IPA to hide the "cardboard" aspect. Also, if I'm doing side-by-sides of similar beer styles, sometimes I'll mix the remainder all together just for funsies (once I'm done with the review portion) - such as blending multiple Tripels or Dubbels together.

It's not something I do frequently, as I generally like the beers I buy just the way they are, but it can be fun. I'm more likely to add a dash of something else, like vanilla or pepper sauce. :grinning:

I have not mixed beers. Not side by side either, so there's some distance to go. Kind of like to know what I'm drinkin'

It’s been awhile, but when I’ve had ipas that have turned and the hops faded some I’ve put 1/2 Oz bourbon into the glass. Foothills years ago experimented with BA IPAs and I thought they were tremendous, nice bourbon influence without being a boilermaker, it’s been years since I’ve been though.

Black Christmas = Guinness + GLBC Christmas Ale. Great on brisk spring evenings and a good way to finish off the last Xmas Ales that are past their best by date

That sounds pretty good. It's not a beer blend, but a small measure of Skrewball peanut butter whiskey in a chocolate-y imperial stout can have very nice peanut butter cup qualities. Lagunitas Willitized works well.

Try blending Westmalle Dubbel and Tripel and enjoy a drubel, as they do at the Westmalle cafe (I haven't had the pleasure of visiting..). Fabulous!

Back in the pre-pandemic days when I was at a craft beer bar and they had Hoegaarden and a Framboise on tap I would ask the bartender to pour be a blend of these beers. I have always referred to the beer cocktail as a Dirty Hoe.
