This is delicious, and very appropriately named. Transient rocks.

[IMG] Tonight's Beer Tasting Lineup is a Blind Battle Beers:

    1) Guinness Harp Lager (4.5%): A standard European pale lager that has strong bready, potato, yeasty and pale malt flavors.
    versus
    2) Leinenkugel's Honeyweiss (4.9%): An American version of a Krystalweizen. This one has strong grain and corn mash flavors. Malty through to the end.

    3) Sierra Nevada's Celebration (6.9%): A wet-hopped seasonal release from Sierra Nevada. Has deep citrus, spiced caramel, and caramelized pine flavors. A winter release, but drinking it for the end of winter.
    versus
    4) Deschutes Fresh Squeezed (6.4%): Another wet-hopped trademark beer from Deschutes. This one has deep nectarine, resinous fruit, flower/pine flavors. Slightly more resinous nectarine and less caramel.

    5) Smithwick's Red Ale (4.5%): An Irish Red Ale that has red fruit, cream, malt liquor flavor that comes across like a cherry root beer.
    versus
    6) Trader Joe's Dark Lager (5.3%): A dark lager from Trader Joe's that has some chocolate, caramel, and smokey flavors overlying a brown malt base. Yet clean and drinkable. Sort of like a German Dunkel lager.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Winners:

    1) Guinness Harp Lager: This one has fantastic European bready flavors. Sort of like bread and potatoes, this one is all pale malt.
Leinenkugal's Honeyweiss tasted of too much American adjunct malts.

    3) Deschutes' Fresh Squeezed: This one was a hard call and I was surprised that these two beers drank similar. Both has the wet-hop and resinous fruit flavors. This one had slightly more nectarine than the Sierra Nevada orange. Slightly more hoppy and fruity, but ultimately, overall quite similar.

    5) Smithwick's Irish Red: This one is a light but drinkable Irish Red Ale. Authentically red and authentically Irish. Showcases the amber and malt liquor flavor.
    TJ Dark was decent too.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you tried any of the above beers and which is your favorite?
Do you think Sierra Nevada's Celebration and Deschutes Fresh Squeezed drink similar? Which do you prefer?

This is Untitled Arts DDH DIPA with lactose and New Zealand hops. 7 % ABV and that's all I know. Love it when these Midwest kegs make it to our area. Perfectly good NEIPA.

Ticking off a new one from Stoup, Citra Sonic IPA. A classic WC-style brew that seems to feature Citra hops. Which I like. I think this will be a repeat buy for me.

Well, logically, a mistake is a mistake.

I believe Steven Wright said "If a man says something in the woods and there are no women there, is he still wrong?".

Unfortunately, although not logical, the implied answer in reality is "yes, you dumbass" (just ask my wife!!!)...:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Brewing Projekt Manduava Puff Tart Fruited Sour w mandarin orange/guava/pineapple/vanilla, 5.6% ABV. Pours gloppy-thick and hazy brilliant orange with no head. Nose is vanilla, orange, and pineapple. Taste follows, quite sweet, slightly tart. Guava is hiding behind the orange and pineapple. Excellent thick and smooth mouthfeel, overall world class.

My personal favorite is to tell people (both in and out of the presence of my wife): "I've been wrong before. Just ask my wife."

    I like your quote better...

#2, this is the closest thing I’ve found to a s’more in a beer. Absolutely love it.
