    At one of my favorite dive bars, Under the Volcano. If anybody remembers any of my posts from the past, this is not a surprise :slight_smile:

    First up Holler Hefe, which is excellent. Finishing up Frank McCourt's second memoir 'Tis. Angela's Ashes was always a favorite of mine, and this is every bit as good.

    With one of my favorite beer and snack combinations. Chimay White and smoked salmon, as the sun sets right on me in this great patio.

    Just a great beer. My favorite Belgian IPA except possibly Houblon Chouffe, which I’ve only had while travelling, so it hardly counts as a number one option. Cheers. [​IMG]

    Brown coal dark; fairly thin yet rich and creamy light khaki hued head. Beautiful whiskey and stout aroma, deep, rich and complex; light baker's and milk chocolate; clean bourbon trace. The taste brings out a fine dance and melding of flavors between delicious milk chocolate and cocoa with a pointed, boozy bourbon component. Rich and heavy body; silky; sweet with some alcohol warmth.

    Ah, a 'simple' imperial stout aged to near perfection in respected American bourbon barrels. That is what we have here. There are few frills yet plenty of highlights to delight the taste buds. This is a wonderful beer...

    ...the past 30 hours have been one head trip after another...on a personal level, identity theft issues (state unemployment claims filed in my name - I'm fully retired - and soft inquiries from January of this year by a company called WalletHub - never heard of them prior to this - indicate my DoD and Experian data theft issues continue to this day...luckily, nothing too adverse, but what a pain in the ass to file police reports, FTC and CFPB reports, and additional reports to add 7-year fraud alerts to the major credit reporting agencies (ironic that one of them is probably part of the problem)...domestic issues, Constitutional issues, social issues...man, thank brewers for beer...and tuneage...loves me my tuneage...and good reading (currently 'Free Inquiry' magazine (got a back load of magazine to plow through), 'Scalia Speaks' by Antonin Scalia, 'Command and Missions' by Lt. Gen. L.K. Truscott, Jr., and 'The Night Torn Mad with Footsteps' by Charles Bukowski...

    And still working through my book, out in the courtyard, with the pup, and Orval. Yep, this is nothing new as well, but 'Tis what I do :slight_smile:

    I also have a new neighbor in my small complex, and she is a professional violin player for the Houston Symphony. Absolutely amazing when she has her windows open and I can hear her practice. I'm not a stranger to the symphony, but I tell her that she is making it easy to not buy a ticket when thinks get back to normal :slight_smile:

    My boss, coworker, and Dad all had false unemployment claims. My Dad took early retirement a while ago..so there is that. The HR department at work interrupted our staff meeting a while ago to make sure we are all still here cause she didn't remember any of the paper work if any of us left :slight_smile:
