See, for me, in my youth, I found them too tame. No risk. I grew up in a rural area, and as soon as we could reach the pedals,we were bombing around farmland in lotcars. A bunch of 10 year olds zipping between rows of apple trees, in some old Chrysler, is MUCH more scary than any rollercoaster ever.

    And, much more fun!

I hear that. I grew up in a rural area, and I remember my dad helping us build a zipline in our backyard between two trees on a whim. We buil it from scratch out of a pulley, two pieces of aluminum, and a thick dowel rod with no way to brake or way to land. More than one of my friends slammed into the trunk of the apple tree at the bottom. From the age of about 10 I spent most of my time riding bmx bikes through trails laden with jumps we built. I chased adrenaline rushes of all types, but those days are long gone for me.

    Dear @kemoarps,

You had to hit me over the head with punctuation because I had crossed you off long ago. I think it was the zip codes but not sure. Yes, half or more of your hints were over my head (state school, as someone pointed out earlier), though most were apparently eliminations rather than pointers. Kyle Seager implied you were nc41’s sender, so I didn’t bite on Faulkner, though I see now that too was a decoy. Then, the hammer. And I was forced to reassess each clue, one by one. My apologies for being so slow.

So therefore, and in conclusion, @kemoarps

So, this whole thread got away from me BIG time. I've got like 12 unread PAGES, and it's only been a few days. I really forgot just how crazy this shit all is. So, with it having been so long and so many pages, it's time for more I'm-not-playing-but-chaos-hints-are-fun!

#4 - I'm drinking a beer from 2014 tonight, from my target's home state, and it is older than their BA profile.

#5 My target is more than 2 states away from me

#6 is about the haul - I just placed my second order from a local brewery for cans I'm going to send, that fill at least vastly different style wants.

#7 is too - There are at least two beers I'm sending with a Chicago connection, that are not going to their home state.

#8 is just to say that I'm looking forward to, uhhh, sending a box out for once!

    Haul Hints:
Haul Hint #1 - My box will contain neither milkshake IPAs, nor sour IPAs
Haul Hint #2 - My box will contain both WC and hazy IPAs, including what I believe to be the best WC IPA currently in production
Haul Hint #3 - One of the mystery beers I send will have a rather unconventional ingredient that works surprisingly well
Haul Hint #4 - If my target is allergic to nuts, they'd better have an epi-pen ready - some beers are worth risking death for
Haul Hint #5 - My two favorite breweries will be well-represented. A few of you can rather easily guess one of them, while the other is referenced in Haul Hint #2
Haul Hint #6 - Multiple types of spirit barrels will be represented in the box
Haul Hint #7 - I hope that either my target's significant other is understanding about glassware, or my target is single and embraces the degenerate life of dedicating 80% of their kitchen cabinet space to beer-related items

    Target Hints:
Hint #1 - Considering I live in San Diego, it's no surprise that my box was ordered eastward
Hint #2 - I've visited the state to which I'm shipping
Hint #3 - I'm shipping to a state that borders at least three other states
Hint #4 - At least one US President was born in the state to which I'm shipping
Hint #5 - My target's zip code includes both even and odd numbers
Hint #6 - My box will travel through at least seven states on its journey
Hint #7 - My target has a non-zero number of peninsulas nearby
Hint #8 - The state to which I'm shipping has been home to MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL teams at some point in the last 50 years, but may not be home to all of those leagues currently
Hint #9 - My target lives within 100 miles of a large body of water
Hint #10 - My box will be going to one of the original thirteen colonies
Hint #11 - My target lives near lakes, but are they great?
    Hint #12 - Isn't that a daisy?
Hint #13 - A salad, an astronomer, and an instrument stand among the greats
Hint #14 - Honest Abe, could not deceive, but all my hints, should you believe?
Hint #15 - Historic battles, modern swings, your state's been host, to both these things

Oh man, one of my favourite memories from being a dumb kid growing up in the country was a buddy of mine who lived on several hundred acres, with lots of large fields. Same kid who almost burnt the island down, but that's a different story. This one is about the deathsled we used to build each year for his birthday. His dad was a forester, so he had a bunch of spare lumber etc, and we'd make runners out of the outside pieces that were too rounded to make good lumber out of, build them onto a bunch of plywood, with 2x4 runner down the middle and on the sides. Fasten some ropes on there to hang onto, and then a long line that we tied to the back of said dad's truck. Then start whipping circles around the fields as fast as we could get them to go, with a half dozen of us on the 'sled' hanging on for dear life to the ropes. Amazingly nobody died, though one time pieces of the bed of the truck fell off and we had to dodge, and people fell off all the time, ha.

I miss being young and resilient and (that brand of) stupid sometimes...

Good timing, too, because... we've been doing some packing...

I was running out of clue ideas too, so I'm glad you pulled the trigger, ha! I was just going to start listing the highways that intersect near your place

I normally would link to all previous clues when leaving another one, but just was too lazy this time. Sorry! That might have helped at least some!

Faulkner's Spoade, though, is from South Carolina, and Kyle's brother, Corey, almost went to Univ of SC (signed with Dodgers instead). Also, the Monty Python clues! Sorry, I spent a lot of time obsessing over @kemoarps's clues.

By the way, @kemoarps, what was with the Measure of Man/Land? Was my (character - hectare) = CA a total coincidence? Also, what was with the Air Jordans?

    All right . . . I'M CALLING YOU OUT!!!

I have to admit it's not because I'm totally sure on all your clues, but most of them, and I've now eliminated everyone else (except who might not be actively participating).

Ok time to try and narrow this down, since I have box I need to send on its way.

this band is from your state, but not your current town.

Since I'll have a box on it's way soon, better add another hint.

Hint 1 - I've never shipped to my target before
Hint 2 - My box is leaving my time zone
Hint 3 - I don't seem to do this that often in BIFs, but I'm shipping west.
Hint 4 - The avocado capital of the world sounds fun, but my box isn't heading to that state.
Hint 5 - The state my box is traveling to has a state fossil.
Hint 6 - My target has both letters and numbers in his/her screen name.
Hint 7 - I've been to 43 states, but my target's is not one of them. The closest chance I had was when I was a college intern for a Pioneer League baseball team.
Hint 8 - "How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?"

I'm not your huckleberry. I suspect you're curious to have some of those clues explained, although it will have to wait until my target calls me out.

I'm in the same boat of having eliminated nearly everyone, including two more in the last 24 hours. Going to ponder things a bit more today but I'll likely be calling someone out this afternoon.

I hear that loud and clear. In high school my best friend and myself would scour the woods for hills that were difficult to climb without snow, and then bomb down them on our sleds. Most of the time we were just tossed off a third of the way down the hill.

This reminded me of a memory I had a week or two ago from my childhood. My grandfather built a wagon that was about 5'x3'x3' that he towed behind his tractor to haul stuff. The wheels were just old iron wheels on an axle with no kind of suspension or rubber tires to soften the blow. Every so often he'd toss me and my sister in the back and give us a ride. It was great fun until he decided to drive through the grove of pine trees that separated our houses. When those iron wheels rolled over the roots it tossed my sister and I around violently.

Since we've been talking about music and this one hits close to home, I saw my first Rusted Root show in 94 when they opened for Jimmy Page and Robert Plant on the No Quarter tour in Pittsburgh. The next time was the summer of 95 when they opened for the Grateful Dead. Then it was either 96 or 97 that I saw them play on New Year's Eve at the Civic Arena where Donnie Iris opened for them. They were always much better live than on record in my opinion. Oh, I also used to deliver food to Mike Glabicki's dad on a regular basis when I worked for a delivery company.
