I would love to go to a beer garden right now, but not if it smells like that and not if I'm going to get splinters.

Okay, okay I got curious.. besides Miller Lite, besides candles that smell like Gwyneth Paltrow's vagina... Google "weird scented candles" and don't go too far down the rabbit hole. Where is the market for these?

You know, every few years it seems that the Brewers Association, the Beer Institute (aka "the big brewers organization") and the distributor's NBWA announce that they're going to cooperate on a campaign to promote beer over wine and spirits (I guess these days, they'd include seltzers as beer...but whatever).

So, that'd make a good slogan:
"TODAY'S AMERICAN BEER INDUSTRY -
WHERE'S IT'S ALWAYS APRIL 1st!"

 

I grew up in bowling alleys as a kid, dive bar would probably be as close as anything to taking me back....

 

Much more than a whiff of cigarette smoke in what’s left of my memory.

 

The old bars just smelled like state beers, I bet they never cleaned those shitholes. Trenton was full of then, every other corner had a bar it seems.

Yeah, this pretty much sums it up. It is like they don't know how to mop up spilled beer? Or maybe they thought that the stale beer smell is better than having the place smell like cleaning product (e.g., Top Job)?
