Well, trying to follow @Roguer's hints is a bit like playing 3 dimensional chess with Mr. Spock - with distracting deceptions and too many clues being only relevant to others. But try as I might I can't eliminate you. So I'm guessing you're my sender!

I made a drive around town tonight to pick up the last of my liquid artillery. I was bummed to see that a spelt saison had sold out at the brewery that I was picking up the last beer from. I inquired with the woman working at the desk if it had made it out to any bottle shops, and unfortunately she wasn't sure. However, she happened to have a can behind the bar that she gave me on the house. That can will be head to Kiribati by Monday at the latest. I just need to scoop up the last of the brewery swag now, the local food product was a no brainer. I'm pretty sure that I hit the minimum ounce requirement, but my calculator app kept crashing.

 

Jeez, you all went crazy while I was at work today.

First off, beautiful hit @WunderLlama

2nd. I informed my target that the first box is on it's way. It's not a big box, but the Large Flat Rate is packed with food, swag and a few beers. I'm hoping to get box 2 in the wild next week. Might have to get a few more to add to the next box.

 

What might be the second, but at least the first, box to my target was dropped at the PO less than an hour ago. Ya know, between LIF boxes, ninja boxes, and random other boxes, I have shipped out a minimum of 1 box a day, all week. I forget where they all go. Be nice to your mailperson.

 

Picked up some minor swag for @Victory_Sabre1973 tonight, but I want to try and pick up a couple things that I may have to journey to Idaho this weekend for. I'm getting my 1st Covid vaccine tomorrow at high noon and hoping it doesn't interfere. Meanwhile, after grabbing a few at Whistle Punk, @Dimidiata's barleywine advocacy has talked me into hitting this.

Ok, my hints are not as cryptic as some, but here are the answers so I found the john Wilks booth stuff interesting

• I have checked in to restaurant in my targets state

• a new to me source /location for black gold (it is oil just not in the traditional sense)

The Seneca tribe, part of the Iroquois nation, collected seep oil for hundreds of years, using it as a salve, insect repellent, and tonic. It also burned, but was unappealing as a lamp oil due to its unpleasant odor and smoke
• your town has ties to someone more famous than anyone from my town, or perhaps infamous would be better would

Hint # 7 - Though I am not shipping North, I am shipping to a North.

Hint # 2 - Though the box(s) will likely travel through another time zone on its way, my target is in my time zone.
Hint # 3 Interesting history of the area my target lives, apparently a lot to thank the railroad for.
Hint # 4 The song "16 Tons" references, if not the same entity, at least a similar entity, that my targets closest town may have originated as.
Hint # 5 My target has both letters and numbers in their username, which is rather impressive considering how few total characters are there.
Hint # 6 - I have already stated that you have both letters and numbers in your BA name - well, if you take all the numbers that are in your BA name and multiply them, you will actually end up with one of the numbers from your BA name.

 

To my target- prepare your porch! Launch is imminent. I will strive to minimize collateral damage but cannot promise anything.

 

Getting down to the nitty gritty... there’s only a few pairings still open, so a few more hints to close out another one -

Hint #1: I’m shipping west

Hint #2: I’ve never shipped to my target before

Hint #3: My target’s state touches one of those oft-discussed large bodies of water

Hint #4: Suprisingly, my target’s state’s flagship university has had some trouble with my state’s flagship school in football over the last couple decades.

Hint #5: My town’s population is larger than my target’s (which doesn’t happen often) but my target’s town has mine beat in elevation, though not by much

Hint #6: The last time I was in my target’s state was for a CART race - a British import (not Irish) won that day and his teammate set a then record for the fastest pole speed ever

Hint #7: Perhaps my target could divine another clue by thinking solfegically

Hint #8: An unrelated previous hint is actually a hint for my target

Hint #9: Dear target, to borrow a page from @swenny916, you may win in the eponymous BIF category, but when it comes to state fossils... mine’s bigger

Hint #10: Hint #1 is not a lie. I’m also shipping North

Are you suggesting that #1 and #10 are being sent to two different people? Or that your target is in a NW-ish direction?

 

I get it - @Roguer conspiracies are weighing heavy on all of us at this late stage!

But this really is just the normal N+W directional thing. I’m concerned my target wrote me off after the first hint without closely consulting a map.

 

If there are no ghost participants, it's just coming down to a few folks who have provided extremely minimal clues. I think I need to step away from the computer, maybe just wait for boxes to land.

 

Yeah, I think we’re just about to that point. Only a few combos remaining, so without further recon it’s gotta be shelter in place (we’re all good at it now) and see what hits.

 

Alternatively, you could sit in front of your computer at 130am, beer in hand, drunkenly lamenting the grand diabolical conspiracy that has wrought insanity upon the land.

Just saying, let's not be too hasty in discarding options here.
