We just picked up some recently, and it goes great on everything. I think my favorite is the simplest: peanut butter on Ritz crackers with a dollop of hot honey. :grinning:

Time to pack up some beer for its south by southwest journey. It won't include many of the usual Garden State suspects.

Packing up boxes this morning to send tomorrow, so I'll provide one final round of hints.

Perhaps my target will guess me. Perhaps I've been weaving a trail of deception. Perhaps I've been a tool of Roguer's grand diabolical conspiracy.

Perhaps Roguer has been a tool of my grand diabolical conspiracy.

    Who can say?

    Haul Hints:
Haul Hint #1 - My box will contain neither milkshake IPAs, nor sour IPAs
Haul Hint #2 - My box will contain both WC and hazy IPAs, including what I believe to be the best WC IPA currently in production
Haul Hint #3 - One of the mystery beers I send will have a rather unconventional ingredient that works surprisingly well
Haul Hint #4 - If my target is allergic to nuts, they'd better have an epi-pen ready - some beers are worth risking death for
Haul Hint #5 - My two favorite breweries will be well-represented. A few of you can rather easily guess one of them, while the other is referenced in Haul Hint #2
Haul Hint #6 - Multiple types of spirit barrels will be represented in the box
Haul Hint #7 - I hope that either my target's significant other is understanding about glassware, or my target is single and embraces the degenerate life of dedicating 80% of their kitchen cabinet space to beer-related items
Haul Hint #8 - One of my food items will pair wonderfully with certain beers, while the other will prove useful the following morning.

    Target Hints:
Hint #1 - Considering I live in San Diego, it's no surprise that my box was ordered eastward
Hint #2 - I've visited the state to which I'm shipping
Hint #3 - I'm shipping to a state that borders at least three other states
Hint #4 - At least one US President was born in the state to which I'm shipping
Hint #5 - My target's zip code includes both even and odd numbers
Hint #6 - My box will travel through at least seven states on its journey
Hint #7 - My target has a non-zero number of peninsulas nearby
Hint #8 - The state to which I'm shipping has been home to MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL teams at some point in the last 50 years, but may not be home to all of those leagues currently
Hint #9 - My target lives within 100 miles of a large body of water
Hint #10 - My box will be going to one of the original thirteen colonies
Hint #11 - My target lives near lakes, but are they great?
    Hint #12 - Isn't that a daisy?
Hint #13 - A salad, an astronomer, and an instrument stand among the greats
Hint #14 - Honest Abe, could not deceive, but all my hints, should you believe?
Hint #15 - Historic battles, modern swings, your state's been host, to both these things
Hint #16 - Tom Brady has crushed the hopes of football fans in the state where my box will land, perhaps moreso than normal
    Hint #17 -
Hint #18 - I'm not sure my target's porch will be blown to kingdom come, but I suspect they'll enjoy what I'm sending
Hint #19 - If my target is still confused, perhaps a wise dog like Snoopy could assist them in sniffing through the hints

Let's see if I can go through your hints, and help out some other BAs who might still have you on their list:

    1. SE GA is indeed East of San Diego (which means whale's vagina if I remember my Ron Burgundy History and Linguistics 101 lessons correctly)
    2. Not sure which states you have visited
    3. GA borders Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina - so, indeed, 3 or more states
4.Jimmy Carter was famously born in Georgia - the only president born in this state, I believe
    5. My zip code does indeed contain both odd and even numbers
    6. I believe the shortest route in between California and Georgia includes 7 intervening states
    7. Counting only Florida, I have non-zero peninsulas nearby; SE Georgia itself has the only peninsula in the state, according to Wikipedia (although one could argue for more)
    8. Atlanta is home to 5 professional sports teams (NBA, NFL, MLB, WNBA, and MLS); curiously, Atlanta has had 2 NHL teams, both of which have moved to Canada (the Atlanta Flames became the Calgary Flames in 1980, and the Atlanta Thrashers became the new Winnipeg Jets in 2011)
    9. I live within 7 miles of the Atlantic Ocean (well within 100 miles); circling back to my hints, yes, some BAs live even closer to an ocean
    10. Georgia is one of the original thirteen colonies
    11. I live within 10 miles of some lakes, but they are certainly not great; I suspect most people live "near" lakes, depending on the definitions of both "near" and "lakes"
    12. There is a Daisy, GA probably about an hour away from me; Georgia is apparently known for the Confederate Yellow Daisy
    13. OK this one still bedevils me
    14. Hmmm, Lincoln was not on the ballot in Georgia in 1960, and so far (other than #13), all your hints fit, so I suspect I should believe them!
    15. The "Georgia votes blue!" is one of the most historic and unexpected voting swings in modern American political history; Sherman's march to the sea famously occurred in Georgia, including the capture of Atlanta
    16. 28-3 is all I have to say (I have an amazing story about listening to that game - not watching, but listening - live, that is probably not suitable for a public forum, given my privacy concerns)
    17. I love Iron Maiden, but this clue flies over my head; it's certainly a war song, but I'm not sure if it refers to the Civil War in any way, and Georgia was only one of many crucial parts of that war
    18. I suspect so, as well
    19. Other than having an awesome dog myself (and Derek AKA @2beerdogs being someone who could "assist" if people couldn't guess their target), and perhaps my penchant for whistling Snoopy songs that no one else remembers even existed, this one has me at a loss, as well

Regardless: CASSIDY ARE YOU MY SENDER??? :stuck_out_tongue:

Perhaps I am. Perhaps I'm a figment of your imagination that you dreamt up to further your grand diabolical conspiracy. Perhaps a couple of boxes will be heading your way from San Diego tomorrow.

I can confirm that I am your sender, and that boxes will be launched tomorrow. As to whether I'm a figment of your imagination, well, that would be something.

I'm about to step away from my computer for a couple hours, but you nailed certain clues. I'll explain them all later today, as I suspect @JayORear is also mighty curious about a few of them.

Well, here's a crosspost from NBS:
Well I was prepared to write up something a little less exciting this weekend, but the... I get an "April Fool's" box at my door ON SUNDAY from our very own @WunderLlama
Thank you, you glorious bastard. I still don't know why, and I'm ok with that. :stuck_out_tongue: A rough week gets trounced by a surprise package of beer. WIN!!!
First off, Luft by Second Wind Brewing in Plymouth Masssss.

Thanks to WunderLlama for this one.
A muted, almost clear gold liquid has a constant stream of golden orbs that keep the foamy head alive for the first few minutes. White fluffy head has good retention and leaves very delicate lace strings.
Smell is slightly herbal, bready, and then a noticeable black pepper note.
Flavor is more nuanced. The hop notes are more toward a drying side of bitter/herbal, thus less spicy. The breadiness goes from under cooked rustic bread to a biscuity sourdough. Really nice even if a tad shy of Kölsch style descriptors.
Mouthfeel is a tad fuller than is typical, but really nice. Moderate carbonation and a smooth feel that nods in the direction of fluffy.
Overall, a really lovely beer for grilling. I think it may drift a bit from style guidelines, but as a person who respects faithful execution but is NOT wed to it, a fine beer.

    3.83/5 rDev -1%
    look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Thanks Maynard!!! Sure got my Sunday grilling off to a great start on a bright, sunny day.

Here's a little teaser post. This stash of boxes will be hitting the road tomorrow morning barring any unforeseen circumstances. Maybe they'll all head in the same direction, maybe they'll all ship in opposite directions. Only time will tell, I suppose. They may not look like much, but the total there is pushing 500 ounces. If only I hadn't run out of boxes there might be another one or three in that picture. It's ok, I know where to find more.

Circling back to my hints. I've skipped the obvious geographic ones since there's no need to explain them:

Aside from flying through Hartsfield-Jackson a couple times, I've been to Atlanta twelve times for ProgPower USA.

As we all know, peninsulas come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Throwing in a hint relevant to the BIF's theme seemed worthwhile.

The "may not be home to all of those leagues" was a specific reference to Atlanta's multiple NHL tenures, but I left it vague since stating "is no longer home to" would've made it blindingly obvious.

Mostly wanted to keep our Upper Midwest friends guessing just a bit if I was going in that direction.

@JayORear caught the reference on this, but went in a totally different direction than I intended. Which, I appreciate since it allowed for a fun tangent.

As he caught, it's a Doc Holliday quote from Tombstone. However, my two reasons for using it were that 1) it comes shortly after Doc says "Must be a peach of a hand," with peach being the most relevant word to my hint there and 2) Doc Holliday was born in Georgia.

Easily the most esoteric hint I used. In the old Star Wars Expanded Universe (since renamed to Legends after Disney acquired Star Wars and took a steaming shit all over the universe some of us grew up with), there was a series of books called X-Wing that mostly centered upon Rogue Squadron. Aside from having enjoyed the books as a teenager, the squadron name has a rather obvious connection to my target, and three of the most prominent/famous pilots were Wedge Antilles, Tycho Celchu, and Corran Horn.

There was no real depth to this, it was just a reminder that I could be lying. As it turns out, it's the only hint in which I wasn't truthful.

@Roguer nailed it, but it was worded carefully to allow Pennsylvania to fit the bill since @JayORear was still unsure.

Same as above. I had 28-3 in mind, but Brady has defeated the Eagles in two super bowls.

Mary - or Saint Mary if you will - is also known as the "Mother of Mercy."

"Blown to Kingdom Come" is a song by the original pirate metal band, Running Wild. Using a song title from the "Under Jolly Roger" album would've been too obvious.

Snoopy was a character in Peanuts, which is one of Georgia's more famous crops/exports.
