I noticed the half acre IG and FB posts surrounding this release had considerably less interactions compared to obsidian throne and db catch hell. Even here on Beer Adv it took almost 24 hours for news to be posted. For these reasons I assumed the chances for those interested would be higher.

I did not expect Lincoln to take 30 min to sell out and almost 2 hours for balmoral to also sell out. Maybe HA made a huge batch or people were scared of the AB barrels. I’m happy with not seeing an insta-sell out but I won’t let my guard down on future releases

The release today was the same as OT and DB Catch Hell IIRC. Email took a few hours to go out after purchase, proxy not noted in the email confirmation once you sign up, etc. All will be well though. If you need to, reach out to HA via the address provided in your email. They always respond quickly and professionally.

Between this release, getting Anabasis, and now seeing I got BA Sump through Oznr, it's been a solid beer week. Happy to spend some of my stimulus money on these Made in America products!

Anyone have Lava Run? Is it a haze-r, a West Coast or an in-betweener?

They always just list things as "IPA" without a description on their website, which is why I don't buy more of their stuff.

I haven't had it but this is from their Gram

Lava Run IPA. Did you see the video for this beer? Don’t you want to go to that place? Observing molten earth forming new land realities. With this Strata focused west coast hazy IPA we look to the Volcano in two ways. ⠀

    Thanks!

    Sounds like an in-betweener.

I did and would it was definitely something in between. Hazy but drier and had some additional bitterness. More citrus and pine than tropical.

Just picked it up this afternoon, but haven't tried it yet. I'll try to drink one later and post impressions.

Its ... great. I'm honestly impressed by it. Nice bready, malty bock with some lovely sweetness, a bit hoppy, but not out of line for the style. If you enjoy a good more traditional bock, you will likely enjoy this.

I prefer cryo hopped, lactose bocks barrel aged in malort. PASS!!

(You've convinced me to by a 4 pack!)

I apologize for being a page behind. Just got around to this year's Vallejo. Please include me in the "I love it" camp. Thank you.

Followed up with a Green Branch. While I'm not a huge hazy fan, as most I find too sweet, if I have a hazy wheelhouse, this is in it. Excellent beer. I still need to try Hallow.

I believe my first four HA beers in 2008 or 2009 were Lager, Over Ale, Baume, and Daisy Cutter. All were very well made and caused me to seek out and try most things they put out. That appreciation for what they do continues today.

2009 I think they were contract brewing HA Lager out of a place in WI in bottles

I remember Daisy Cutter and Gossamer in Tall Boy cans around 2010

Nope. March 2009 opened on Lincoln. Prior to that, yes, contract brewed in WI. But I think the ones I mentioned were their first four beers. DC was in bombers. Then in 2010, Gossamer and DC were first ones in cans.

The tours they used to do back then were awesome. You'd go through 3 pints during it. They may still do them the same way, not sure, its been years since I've gone on one. But it was a great value (I think it was $10 and you got the 3 pints and the glass).

I highly recommend the balmoral tour series if they restart it. Only went to one, but it was the most informative brewery tour I’ve ever been on.
