+1 on Iron Goat. Had lunch/beers there on the way out of town on my last Spokane trip. Super good.

Discovered a new (to me, anyway) tenant at Steel Barrel, a nanobrewey called No Drought Brewing. I had their Grazzer, which was a smoked light beer (4%) which I think was a lager-
    [IMG]
and an unfiltered west coast-ish IPA called Bitter Bear -
    [IMG]
, which, I believe I was told was hopped with cryo-Amarillo and Citra (although it may have been an older C-hops variety-It's St.P's Day, fer chrissakes! I'm kinda drunk!). The owner was behind the bar at Steel Barrel, tonight, and although I failed to get his name, he indicated that he's in the process of establishing a tap room in Spokane Valley.

Same. And yet only kinda. A week ago I was thinking of finding some Knappogue Castle and a bunch of local-made Dry Irish Stouts. Then a couple days ago I was more like, "Well, okay, Bushmills and some local Dry Irish Stouts." Then this afternoon it was, "Dang, St. Pat's already?" And I brought home some Fremont Dark Star.

No complaints, really. But the whiskey would've been nice. What's the next drinking holiday? Saturday?

Paid visits over the weekend to Hidden Mother, Precious Things, Humble Abode and Bellwether, and had a great time at all.

Someone mentioned this place to me, but I couldn't figure out if they were referring to a bar or a brewery (it was an EWU student who seemed to not understand the difference between them) . I'll try to check it out soon.

Given your BA handle, I think most of us sort of assumed that. Also, not many people join BA just to announce the opening of a new brewery in a small, out of the way area of Washington (unless they have some connection with that brewery).

    Welcome to BA!

Fair, that's fair. Honestly I started this account for other reasons and happened upon this thread. I've been interested in craft beer since maybe 2009 but was never involved to the extent that I'm at now, (home brewing-ish, brewing and working at a brewery, Tavour, etc.). I never really got involved with the social aspect of it and wanted to see what it was all about, I've heard good and bad and witnessed good and terrible and so far it seems that it isn't too far off from any other hobby I have, you have genuine decent people and you have pretentious, claim to know everything individuals and it rides at about the 50/50 mark. I'm hoping to run into more of the prior types.

Side note: The brewery opened May 2020 and so far we've managed through Covid but the area doesn't generate the foot traffic that Spokane might so trying to get the name out there in any way possible.

Speaking of Cheney, is New Boundary still open? They haven't had a beer added or reviewed since 2016.

They went under several years ago. Can't say when with any exactitude, because I only heard so when long after the fact.

This. They've been gone for a few years. I don't know anything about them as I never went out there when they were open or knew anyone that worked/owned it but everyone that's come through the brewery so far hasn't had many friendly words to say about it when it was open.

(Love the P-47 btw BB! Huge aircraft guy here.)

I heard they had huge problems with CO2, which is kind of a deal-breaker when you're serving draft beer to people.

Well, @John_M, Iron Goat still does have the Richard variant of Troll Crusher on. I had a half pour last night, and when I asked how much was left, was told there was one more untapped keg, so it may well still be an option when y'all are passing through.

Thanks for the update. As it turned out, my wife has now decided she's good with going to the Iron Goat for dinner, which I'm kind of excited about. Just over a week to go... really looking forward to it.

Whistle Punk and Hello have teamed up to brew a triple IPA. Details from WP's fb page:
    "FRESH CUT GREENERY IIIPA

On tap and in cans today is our collaboration IIIPA with @hellobrewco. This beer is brewed with oats and hopped heavily with 3 forms of Mosaic and Citra. The result is a pillowy soft IPA with notes of stone fruit, pineapple, and Juicyfruit Bubblegum. 10% ABV

Come try a glass and grab some cans because this one is a limited release and won’t last long."

A TIPA called Fresh Cut Greenery that was released on 4/20. I suspect this may be a dank one.

    And, no, not so dank.
A fairly easy drinking hazy, actually.

Went well with Fancy Nancy's and fries from Heritage. Very little suggestion of it's high abv percentage (10%).
