Fair enough, I have 3 within that span, one sort of distributes but that is just the kegs. The other two are on premises only.
At least one of those breweries will be represented in a box heading out very soon.
    Cheers!

For those not following along in WBAYDN?, I wasted no time today in getting to two of @Rub_This_BBQ 's offerings:

Neither are new beers for me, although I've had Very Green on very few occasions. Sip of Sunshine used to be regular for me (and a regular inclusion in trade/BIF boxes!), but has been probably a once-a-year beer since moving, always thanks to the grace of another BA.

I'm looking forward to reintegrating SoS into my regular rotation. It's also refreshing to have such a wonderful, bitter, and clear IPA from New England. :grinning:

Dammit, you had to mention cannolis, and now I'm hungry for one, and there are currently no cannoli-making or selling establishments in my area.

In all seriousness, well done @Rub_This_BBQ. That is a fine assortment of beers.

So, I had a couple brews that didn't fit into the box I'm sending to target. Should I get a few more and send them along to target? Or, should I get a few more and send out another ninja box? Decisions, decisions.

I can't claim to have ever had authentic cannoli. I know I've had it before, but I'm going to have to find a spot where I can know I'm getting the real deal.

Fortunately, there's a very well known pasta joint near where I'm moving (you could say, "local famous," but they legitimately top most pasta lists for the state, despite being in a town no one else has ever heard of). I don't think I've ever had a dessert from them, but that's going to change after this thread. :grinning:

When your partner's family owns an Italian restaurant, you get a lot of exposure to (and opinions about) Italian food. There's very few of them who actually like cannoli for dessert; most of them would appreciate a spumoni, a piece of cheesecake, or an affogato better. I've sure seen them down cannoli for a midnight snack, though, or even for breakfast.

There is an Italian grocer in my neighborhood that makes some ridiculously good cannolis. It's all about the filling. You can't save a cannoli with trash filling. If only they kept better. They'd definitely be impossible to ship.

The place I favored (that closed a couple years ago) was also an Italian grocery/restaurant. Their cannolis were amazing, but needed to be dispatched in about 15-20 minutes, or they'd lose structural integrity. They had fantastic take & bake lasagna, too. :pensive:

So, back in the Rochester NY area, where I originate, there were all these family run Italian deli/bakeries/pizza places. one of my favorites had the bakery on one side, all those little cookies, cannoli, etc, and the other side was the pizza/wings part. Well, they made both pepperoni (bread filled with slices of....). and pizza bread (bread filled with mozz, pepperoni, and whatever else on a given day). Awesome stuff! https://www.colombinispizzadelimenu.com/

I love places like that. My sister lives in north Jersey, and has a number of places exactly like what you described. One of the greatest hoagies I've ever had came from a spot in Bayonne. They cut everything by hand to order and had some of the best rolls, meats and cheeses I've ever had. The best part was the experience of it all though. The staff treated everyone like family, and knew most of the customers by name. It very much felt like it could have been a scene out of The Soprano's. I haven't been there since New Year's 2017, and need to get back.
Totally agree with this. The best cannolis are filled right when ordered. Anything longer will make the shells soggy and nobody needs that.

Oh, sure, I get that. It was a source of angst for my incorrigibley sweet-toothed Father, residing 150 miles away, however: "Well, just TRY to send me one, won't you?..."

My absolute favorite pizza ever is from Brandani's: https://www.brandanispizza.com/ , and was totally amazeballs. I believe the family has sold it, but made the new folks hold the standards. Anyway, the Dad, who made everything that could be made in-house (best Italian sausage I've ever had), was kind of distant, until he saw your face a few times, and then he'd warm up a little. Well, after stopping for lunch slices, and the occasional dinner pizza, for a couple years when I worked in the area, apparently he felt comfortable enough with me. One day, as I'm ordering a couple slices, he says; ah, you, commea over here (he still had a thick accent from the Old Country), I walk over, he says, try dis, and hands me a chunk of sausage, that was fabulous, but clearly not on the menu. I eat it, and it was even better than the daily. Whud ya tink? It's great, I say, but what's different? Eh, is venison I shoot and butcher. Health department no let me sell, cuz I butcher it my garage, but, you want some on your pie? Well, fuck yes!

Ever more, I would ask for "both" sausages. There's a lot great things about our modern world, but I fear the time and places for these types of interactions have gone by us.
