I love NY! I even briefly stayed in Albany back in the day. Thanks btw. I still haven’t gotten rid of a slightly noticeable French accent. :grinning:

Curfew Challenger. Last Minute Weizen from our local brewery. It is the 8,3 alc by vol that makes this a nice Weizen to be honest  The 8,3 % points to 20:30 our local curfew time.
Opened this one bit too early to make it a challenge maybe. But since I'm in my own home and not going anywhere anyway, there would be no sense in waiting.
At the moment we still have a curfew from 22:00 (because of summertime) to 04:30 here.
    Cheers

Neither did my maternal grandparents. They hailed from Alfred, Ontario, Canada. Which was primarily French speaking. I do miss their accent.

Indeed, some tiny parts of Ontario are or were primarily French speaking. Obviously close to the border to the Quebec province.

Had to look up sciatica in Google translate. Hope you get over the pain soon.

If you ever consider moving because of a banned painkiller in France, just drive up north. Marijuana has been legal here for ages.

Better reason; it looks like we are getting more Sierra Nevada and Scandinavian IPA's (for non Scandinavian high prices). Keep you posted on the beers here.

    Cheers!

Yikes, broken back, that couldn't have been a good situation.
When I was having knee issues, bone on bone, I smoked pot and it definitely dulled the pain. I smoked a lot before that not only because of the pain,I grew up in that era and it was about 10 bucks a lid.
I had a physical maybe in my early 50's and my doctored asked if I smoked pot and I said I did. He said be careful how much because as you get older you can develop heart arrhythmia from it. He was right, about 5 years ago I was diagnosed with A Fib. and had to have a cardio version. I haven't had any pot since, but if offered:thinking_face: Cheers.

Incidentally I spent Monday afternoon with a couple of friends in my town, one of them has been living in Rotterdam for some years now and work there now.

He does miss some things about France but probably not the ban on weed or hash.

Closest I ever was to the Netherlands was De Panne in Belgium, I love the Flemish who are close enough to the Dutch people too.

I’m definitely interested in a longer stay in the Netherlands someday, for a vacay when the virus dust settles finally.

A couple friends just spent a few days down in Oregon, and brought me some brews. And, I've got some BIF boxes headed my way with more beer. Might as well have some beer for breakfast. Astoria Brewing's Strawberry Blonde is my alarm clock brew today. Nice grain, and plenty of berry.

Dick Young started Dick's Brewing in (IIRC) 1994, making it among WAs older breweries. Dick was quite the character, and when he passed away about a decade ago, it left a hole in regional beer community. His daughter has taken over the company, which also includes a smokehouse and deli, and they do good work there too. Here is Dick's Straight Coastin', a "Hazy" IPA that is actually hazy and not turbid or murky. Lots of pine and citrus, no frooty hops here. I'm liking it!

Got my covid vaccine. Went to Robert Evans for lunch. Country fried steak and omelet with all veggies and meats.

Got a raspberry really at JAFB now. Perfect balance of fruit and wheat beer. Nice tang.

Lager or Lazy Pilsner? Either works for me!
Rinse and repeat makes it clear I'm due for a fresh beer run. Cheers advocates!

Good day Advocates. The bar about two hundred meters down the road from my local place has been shut down due to Covid, but there is a lot of overlap among clientele, so...who knows. My city also recorded a record number of cases today by a wide margin. WTF.

A very nice IPA from Nickel Brook as I get set up for a third lockdown, which is coming soon. Cheers. [IMG]

I'd always skipped over Fremont Lush IPA in the store, in favor of familiar WCIPA's. It's ok for a solid mid-week afternoon refresher, but I'm definitely going to return to Bale Breaker's IPA's for my current mainstay after this one is done.
