Well shit. Sad to hear the news that @scream has left the virtual bar for the final time. Though he was often short and direct with posts about Voodoo Ranger, I always smiled a little when he had something different. It was often something I never saw coming.

Too bad I wasn’t paying attention, or I’d have grabbed some VR at the store today. Another trip can easily be made before April 10.

Until then, I’ll pay a little respect with no pic.

Having this near Pittsburgh, PA from a 16oz canned on 2021-03-01



Just finished work for the week and starting a 3-day weekend. Hooray. Kicking things off with this local brew. Pittsburgh has a good beer culture. There's a new brewery opening up within walking distance of me, but that's a story for another day. This beer is tasting really good. Here are my thoughts.

A - Copper with a 1.5-finger tan head and light lace
S - Fresh brown bread with apple butter and grassy/herbal spice
T - Like eating a fresh baked biscuit while drinking mulled apple cider. Finishes dry with just the right amount of light bitterness.
M - Light-medium body and medium carbonation.
O - A very good example of the style. Clean and crisp. Worth seeking out.

And for tunes, I put on some Billy Strings, who just won a Grammy for the best Bluegrass album.

This song, Dust in a Baggie, which he wrote, features his band and his amazing acoustic guitar solo. I want to see this band in concert.

Its a glorious day to have some lunch out in the patio of Better Luck Tomorrow. One of my favorite cocktail, food and beer spots. Had some of the cocktails but don't want to get in trouble again with the big mods

Anyway, lunch is Lone Pint Yellow Rose with fried pickles and charred quail.



I'll for sure be out in my home courtyard in a bit with my pup, book, and beer.

 

A bartender friend of mine said if she owned a bar, she’d call it He’s Not Here. Then, when the phone rings, she could say: “Hello, he’s not here.” Cheers.

My favorite bar name was a place in Charleston, South Carolina called Closed For Business. It was a great spot, think they did relatively recently (before Covid anyway) permanently close though
