I'm doing them on Fridays as a precaution. Could theoretically lead to a shitty weekend, but, hey, the weather could cause that anyway.

No apology necessary. I'd be "ranting" if that was the case where I lived, too.

I got the J & J vaccine and had no reaction what so ever. My better half got the moderna and had a little redness at the injection site with the first shot, and pretty much nothing from the second shot.

I got Pfizer #2 this past week. Definitely had more of a reaction than the first shot, but by more of a reaction, I mean my left shoulder was sore/weak for 24 hours - but literally just the left shoulder joint. So odd.

My wife is getting #2 (Moderna) in a couple weeks - hoping she doesn't have too much of a reaction.

We've been really lucky since 1, it seems like the US decided the vaccine rollout was the only thing they were going to do competently and mostly they have done that. And 2, IL has done a great job rolling out the vaccine - its honestly been shockingly good.

I'm sorry to hear about the lockdown @Coronaeus - thats incredibly depressing.

Yeah, we have a ton of breweries here. The ones I prefer all seem to be an hour+ from my house though, perhaps I'm too picky. One of the most interesting new breweries is Private Press Brewing, owned by Brad Clark (formerly head brewer at Jackie O's), and he's producing only barrel aged stouts and barleywines for his 600 member club. Amazing beer, and awesome that doing things his way without worrying about selling stuff to the masses is an option for him.

Ugh, that sucks. I'm still a bit shocked at how fast vaccinations ramped up here in California. We went from it being really difficult for folks 65+ to get the vaccine to open to everyone 18+ in the space of about a month or so. The arrival of the J&J vaccine seem to have been the turning point. In my county, anyone can schedule an appointment and there's several walk-in options. The faster we all get vaccinated the less variants we'll have to deal with, and the sooner I can be out drinking beer at actual breweries again.

If It helps, I’ve not been vaccinated yet either. Registered some time ago and now they opened it up to ages 16 and up. So I have no idea when I will get the shot(s)
But hey, I am very fortunate in that my porch has been repaired and I have an amazing selection of beers from @Mbgreg to keep my spirits up!

Wow, this was really good. Spent the last 4 hours putting up rafters on an old chicken house (long story, tragic beginning and only slowly getting better)
Any ways, really hit the spot on this warmer than normal Sunday. Thanks @Mbgreg !

Drinking in Idaho today after buying some beers there.
One of the beers I will post on Untapped today is going to @Victory_Sabre1973.
And, no, it's not the BA wee-heavy from Paragon. Let's just get that out of the way right now.

Whatever you send me, I'll be happy, and honored to get.

I also like to jump states to get beer. It may be an hour and a half to Wisconsin - if you're ever in Hudson, stop at the Nova, and don't get me started about Lazy Monk, Valkyrie... . 2 1/2 hours to North Dakota (though we get tons on ND beer here - we got our Drekker drop back on Thursday). 3+ hours to South Dakota or Iowa. I am planning on going to Sioux Falls early May for a beer run, and maybe stop at the Lupulin - Sioux Falls location.

Also, FYI, I was packing boxes today, that will go out tomorrow.

    Wait, boxes?
    Uh, oh!
One is for the Utopia hit, outside of here, but how many more will there be? Only time will tell.

Yeah, for us, the first shot was nuttin... maybe a sore arm, but that's standard vaccine stuff. The second shot wiped both of us out for about a day... just heavy fatigue and a headache, but after a day or so it was back to normal.
Glad it's easy to get in NC, sorry about the PA experience for your fam. It's crazy how vastly different the experiences are from state to state... here in WA, the missus and I had no trouble, as we are both front-line health care workers, but my dad, who's in his 60s and has clotting issues (as much as we focus on the respiratory transmission aspect of covid, it also has massive, if not primary, vascular involvement as well), hasn't been able to schedule a dose until they just opened it up to most of hte population earlier this week. At least it'll make for a great birthday present for him!

    Y'all.
This is probably the single thickest/most viscous big rich decadent stout I've ever had. It's also probably ~top 10 in terms of highest abv, and probably roughly the same range (top ~10-20) beers I've ever had, period (that viscous/thickness really does it for me).

Double Barrel Catch Hell is just a masterclass in how to do big, unsubtle, over the top, decadent, rich, whatever other synonyms you care to employ stouts. It is unapologetically all of those things, but is done in such a way as to come together seamlessly, and somehow unassumingly, so that there are no harsh edges anywhere, everything fits perfectly like the marvels of ancient masonry, and despite not hiding its 15%, it somehow still catches you by surprise. This is damn delicious. I'm going to be saying this a lot this year, but: Thanks Frank!

Damn, another howitzer! Great hit by @MacMalt. I'm looking forward to reading your reviews of the Drowned Lands brews. We just had a few of their cans make it to Pittsburgh, and I'm very curious.
Much like yourself, we love our stouts in western PA year round. Dancing Gnome's Black Clouds always sell out in minutes, and any of their BA work is basically a "right place, right time" scenario when it comes to scoring it. Most of Eleventh Hour's special BA releases sell out immediately, too. Voodoo used to be "first come, first served" with the announcement of a Barrel Room Collection release coming 5 minutes before they opened. This meant dropping whatever it is you're doing to hustle down there before they're gone, which was usually within 30-60 minutes. They've been all lottery since the pandemic started though. Never enough stouts to go around here.

Another nice hit by @BBThunderbolt! And he bought coffee!
This sounds really cool. One of the things I need to start doing now that I'm fully vaccinated is start making the drive out to Jackie O's to load up on bottles. They'll ship throughout Ohio, but not to PA. I've seriously considered getting a PO Box just across the border just so I wouldn't have to drive 6-7 hours round trip to Columbus.
