Havent had sixpoint in a very long time especially since the "Sell Out". As an OG sixpoint fan they used to be my favorite brewery back in the day before they introduced their SILO cans. I think that was the beginning of them changing. They were a forced to be reckoned with back then and their communication on beeradvocate was admirable to say the least.

But I feel they are now a shade of themselves and kinda lost their direction. I did buy their new Smoothie beer today and Apollo to revisit them but where does Sixpoint stand with you guys today ?

Just had their resin IIPA yesterday, still a solid beer to me. As far as their new offerings, not really interested.

Yea I only bought them because they were freshest options. The smoothie beer name is horrible I might add and seems gimmicky as hell. We will se when I try the beers.

Haven’t had them for over a year. Resin, when fresh, was a go-to for a long time, especially liked the 12oz slim can format.

Until a couple months ago they hadn't been available in IL since they pulled out years ago ('16? '17?). So I hadn't had their beer in years. I will say though, if the Jammer mixed pack showed up in IL this summer, I'd buy it. Otherwise I doubt I'm buying anything from them here - too many local options.

I haven't bought Sixpoint in years. I miss 16 oz cans of Sweet Action and the Crisp. I loved those two beers. I think the crisp is still around, not sure about Sweet Action.

They used to be a regular go-to. I loved Bengali, Resin, Crisp, and Sweet Action; each one helped me develop an appreciation for their respective styles. Sadly I barely give them a second-glance these days.

I don't think that the ABV merger did them any favors because what loved about them was the way that they'd experiment and push boundaries, and manage to knock it out of the park while doing so.

Nowadays it seems like they've gone from taking risks to chasing trends - that could be for a multitude of reasons, from the new corporation forcing a reduction in cross-brand competition, to the realities of a hyper competitive market, to me just being older and having different preferences - but at the end of the day I think that the thing that turned me off the most was the crappier distribution. Post-merger I couldn't get any Resin or Bengali with a decent best by date, so I (as seems to often be the case) just went local.

yea but both beers have undergone major changes unfortunately for the worst compared to the old days.

By sell out do you mean the Artisanal Brewing Ventures buyout? Still feels craft to me in that group. I still enjoy their beers, Resin is great, and Bengali is improved. I haven't seen the great improvement that was expected with the hiring of the Trillium headbrewer and I haven't really enjoyed much of the new stuff that has come out. I'd like to try some of the small batch purchase through the app beers, but I dont live close enough. My biggest gripe with them is the beer finder requires the App and i'm not downloading an app just to find your beer.

I got the mix 15 pack a few weeks ago, that was at a pretty good price. I think Bengali is tasting better now than it ever has. Not crazy about the couple new hazy beers I tried from them though.

It's crazy how much they've fallen off the map for me. It's been 4 or 5 years since I've had any of their stuff. For a couple years they were a Top 5 go-to brewery for me. The local haze craze definitely has something to do with it, also their stuff is harder to find and not prominently displayed anymore.

As another poster mentioned above...off my radar unless the Jammer mixed pack shows up again this spring/summer. That is a must buy.

I dont like the skinny cans. I know thats a nitpick because the beer inside matters more but its still a turnoff, sorry.

I used to purchase Sixpoint beers. My guess is that it has been over two years since I bought any Sixpoint beers. I always appreciated that Shane Welch was willing to engage in meaningful discussion on BA. Even though Sixpoint is brewed locally (Parkesburg, PA) I have moved on to buying beers from other local breweries. I suppose that since the sale Sixpoint has become less relevant for me?

    Cheers!

I still enjoy Bengali, Resin, and Sweet Action pretty frequently.

I don't try any of the newer stuff.

I never regularly bought Sixpoint's beer, but I enjoyed whatever I did buy enough to make an effort to find certain brews, such as Alpenflo. But it's been two years since I last purchased anything by them (The Crisp), and three since the previous purchase (the aforementioned Alpenflo). I still see their stuff on the shelves, and I almost bought some Resin recently for old times sake. But there are just so many other options, and perhaps I subconsciously wrote them off when I heard about the 'buyout' and Shane's departure.

Actually forgot about Sixpoint. I was fortunate enough to try most of their coffee beers a couple years ago, and that was sort of the 'end' of me chasing their beers. They were available in Arkansas for a time (perhaps still are), but I no longer frequent Arkansas, and thus haven't been able to pick up any of their IPAs. I remember finding their Triple IPA on one trip and being super stoked.

Fresh Resin is hard to beat...I see it, get a little excited, then I look at dates...then I keep walking.

I still drink Jammer when it's like 90 degrees out every single day from July to August

If anybody remembers this, I used to announce their new releases on this forum maybe 2017? When their beer app came out. Before any press release got them I did it here first. 4beans, puff, mold shauer... a etc.... I loved sixpoint. Every beer. The crisp was a thing of beauty. Anyways, Shane stopped contacting me and I had given beer a break for a bit and they seem to have disappeared. If I can find the crisp within a decent date I’ll buy it. And Jammer too. I absolutely loved Cream.

I really miss them a lot

    @SCW

Believe this was one of Shane’s handles
