I haven't seen much about it, but Trillium now shipping to DC, but limit of 3 4-packs and $25 shipping kind of kills it for me.

Good looking out. The Yes in eastern market had tons of it, canned 3/15. And brother it is drinking fine right now.

Probably because they are a far drive and have limited distro. Liked everything I've tried except first harvest blackberry (a gusher and not really blended). Hopefully the local nova shops can get more cans/bottles.

I meant more within their portfolio - since other traditional style beers have seemed to have moved faster. I ain't complaining. I've been able to have my share.

RE - the Blackberry, sorry that happened to you. They told me to refrigerate that one for a while before opening. I think because I expressed my disappointment about another beer that gushed. I haven't had it yet.

Ahh, maybe it's just the style and time of year? Warmer weather and dark beer? Honestly spitballing, no idea.

Re the gusher. It arrived cold and was kept in the fridge the entire time. Idk what happened there but it's not going to stop me from trying more.

Ah, whenever I open it, I'll be ready with a glass in hand to ensure it doesn't all spill out. I had a gusher yesterday with an Oxbow beer. I feel like it just happens from time to time.

Was in the vicinity of Ocelot yesterday for the first time in quite awhile, so swung by to pick up some cans. Was surprised when I looked at the dates on the bottom after I got home-- both were brewed in December (Two Lost Souls and Dappled). I guess the pandemic has really slowed their sales, unfortunately.

I've seen them on tap all over but have they ever distroed cans?

It would be killer to get some Sunnyside in my fridge consistently.

This sounds like the same deal with Triple Crossing and it makes zero sense to me.

I wonder if after TC’s second expansion we’ll start to see distro. If they keep the quality up and are regularly available here in DC that’s where most of my beer money will go.

I don't get it either - there are plenty of NoVA beer shops (e.g. Dominion, The Brew Shop to name a couple) that have been putting on and moving kegs. IMO it makes a lot more sense to reward these retailers who've been supporting the business with some cans. To send them across state lines to another retailer is kind of a slap in the face.

Ocelot tried a couple weeks of home delivery last Spring. I'm surprised they gave up on that so quickly.

    Praise you.
I had zero idea Tired Hands included VA in shipping.

Enjoy! I just got a shipment of DDH Grassman w/ Riwaka and DDH HopHands w/ Citra. Both are incredible.

I am traveling to DC in a month and wanted to hit up some good beer spots. Hopefully churchkey reopens but on my list I have the sovereign (not a huge Belgian fan but looks cool), Shelter (draft list looked good), The Berliner (I love a good biergarten and European lagers), Dacha and Other half. Any other places I am missing?

Just a heads up, The Sovereign has also been closed during the pandemic. Dacha (Shaw) is a few blocks away from Right Proper's brewpub which should have some funky stuff on tap.. If you go to the Navy Yard Dacha, you'll be by Bluejacket and Atlas's Navy Yard location. Atlas' Ivy City location is near Other Half.

Neighborhood Restaurant Group, which owns both Churchkey and The Sovereign, also owns Bluejacket and Shelter, FWIW. I've only been to Right Proper's production facility in Brookland (briefly) during the pandemic so I can't speak to how these places are operating right now. I would recommend Bluejacket though.

Another road of Other Half, Foam, Vitamin Sea, and Hudson Valley hitting the area.

Personally, I have appreciated most of the Hudson Valley stuff (sans my last order - touch too sweet for me) and those dropped in the area. I would love to see more kegs show up.
