Batting second on this beautiful Friday is All the Way Up from Mast Landing. It's a sour ale with strawberries, raspberries and lactose. It's a really nice fruit beer. Strong raspberry & strawberry notes as advertised. The only improvement I would make would be to ramp up the sour/tartness a bit. I rated it 3.99, which is just a tick below it's BA average of 4.09.

Stopped in at Lena (IL) Brewing for a mid-day flight.

 

Up third on this freaking gorgeous Friday is Apripeche, a tart wheat ale with peach and apricot, from Ommegang. I'd dial up the tartness a chunk, but otherwise, this is a really nice beer from an excellent brewery. There's strong peach and apricot on the nose and palate with some wheat showing up in the taste. I rated it 4.17 which is a chunk above it's BA average of 3.96. Wifey would probably rate it a bit higher, she really liked this one.

This is a beer that I am constantly returning to and try to always have in the fridge.

 

Afternoon BA's, mom picked me up from school early today. Canned two weeks ago and tasting so damn clean and crisp. A really good "new" take on the WCIPA. A six pack of tall boys costed $11, that price made me pull the trigger.

 

Happy BA birthday! I should start taking my BA birthday as a vacation day...

Good day Advocates. Our dryer croaked this morning. Due to lockdown/stay at home orders and the age of the machine, going through the shit to get it repaired is a nonstarter. So, bought a new one online with an April 15th delivery date, although I’m not holding my breath on that. May have to go old school and hang a clothes line for a while.

Drinking Mikkeller Fresh Start NEIPA, which I guarantee is the first of many beers today. Cheers.

 

Budweiser with lunch but it also works as a stand alone.

 

Batting clean-up today is The PastryAfchy from DuClaw. It's a Mexican hot chocolate brown ale. There's a ton of chocolate, to the point that it's a one trick pony. I didn't notice any of the Mexican spice or peppers. But Wifey got strong peppers late in the aftertaste. I rated it 3.77, Wifey would probably be a bit higher.
