Help Adding Images to Forum Posts

    Just a caution: Dropbox is not a backup service. It is a file sharing service. If you delete a file on one of the devices sharing the Dropbox folder, it will be deleted on all devices sharing that folder.

    It has some file recovery capability, sure. But, it is not intended as, and does not operate as, a backup service.

    No one can upload photos to any BA forum post, regardless of your device. You can only link to them. This means they must be hosted elsewhere, such as the several photo hosting sites discussed in this thread.

    (You do upload photos to the beer database, but that is for the limited purpose of illustrating the beer in question, and it has very strict file size and photo resolution requirements.)

    I use https://bulkresizephotos.com/en for adding images for the beer's page.

    https://imgbb.com/ for adding pics to posts.

    With the post images problem, I tried to go back to Imgur but there is no code to copy and paste.
    When I click on the share icon it gives me options to share it via text and other things. The only thing it had was copy link but when I did that it showed up as a link on BA (duh). No picture posted.

    Yup, that was the change that pushed me away from imgur. pointless.

    Ok, I give up. Have spent a frustrating morning trying to upload my first beer haul picture using my newly-created Flickr account but without luck. Every link I post from the sharing tab on the photo on the Flickr site (which offers share, embed, email, and BB codes) gives me a broken link on the previewed post.

    I know a few people here use Flickr - can anyone offer advice? The photo is available for public view, is uploaded to Flickr, and is available in my album.

    I started using Imgur a few months back. The website is infantile, but after uploading an image and posting it publicly, I right-click (using my laptop; not sure about a smartphone) and select "copy image address". Seems to work well enough.

    I use postimages and you don’t need an account. I find it super easy for posting pics in the threads I frequent. I know you’re going Flickr so I can’t help you there, but give this a shot:

    1. Take pic on phone
    2. Go to postimage https://postimages.org/
    Select image from your photos, upload.
    3.Scroll down, tap copy icon on right of the seventh option down, Hotlink for forums.
    4. Then tap in post to paste image.

    I just tried out postimage and yeah, much simpler and way less annoying than Imgur.

    Since this thread has become rather active again of late, especially in regards to Postimage, I would like to remind people to please remove any spam links that Postimage may add to the picture link before posting, thank you.

    Postimage randomly does this on occasion, you will notice a second link that's inserted right after the picture link.
