What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3094

Not sure if @beergoot had a plan for kicking this sad, but special day off but I will join you Matt and hopefully the higher ups can make the thread how they wanted it. I have a very busy day with local town baseball stuff and wanted to sneak in a few before most of my day gets chewed up on the ball field. I don’t always drink Voodoo in the morning, but when I do it is for one colorful character at the virtual bar who’s seat is vacant. Cheers Mr. @scream

 

My long time trade partner @jzeilinger had the pleasure of trading with @scream and word around the campfire is Jeff sent him his favorite beer of all time. Mother Of All Storms a BA Barleywine from Pelican. Today every post from home I make will be with the many glasses I have acquired from JZ over the years. I prefer this one over straight up Voodoo. I purchased a 12 pack on my way out from my second job at Laconia Case n Keg yesterday. Really a solid DIPA quality and price. I will see you all later and please, lets give Don a party today that we all would want in our honor.

 

Up early, starting a cool Spring, Saturday right with my favorite Shandy (or dare I say Biermischgetränk), Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen. Ausgezeichnet!

Like many of you I didn't know @scream personally, just familiar with him through his posts and my interactions with him here on BA. I got the impression he was a hell of a nice guy. I was saddened to hear of his passing.



This one is for you @scream. Hopefully, I'll get to meet you at that "big brewery" in the sky!

Some morning coffee before I go to the airport later this morning and get my brother and sister-in-law - FB’s “Maple Bacon Coffee Porter”:



Best by 6/17/21. Poured at 57°. Lots of maple sweetness; some coffee with a smoky side of bacon. Good for a change up breakfast beer. I’ll be back this afternoon with some VR and memories of Don. Cheers and have a great day y’all!

 

Only my second day here but it appears things get going pretty early in the morning. Never had a VooDoo beer. I will check out the local store after work and find something to post later. Cheers.

Good day BAs! Looks like a potential sunny day today. No Voodoo Ranger at hand and sorry to hear of the @scream 's beaming out - makes me wonder about all the BAs who are no longer posting - dead or otherwise moving on? However, today's New Breakfast Beer is one I've probably had at some local beerfest or other but never bothered to write up:



Actually pretty decent IIPA - rating 4.02, rDev +4.4%. Not often that the can and the brew color match.

 

Short work day complete so I'm very happy (and sad) to join you BA's for the @scream aka Don tribute. The below pic is me, @GreenBayBA and Don at Badger Sate Brewing, mothers day 2019. Hopefully when DocZ checks back in later he'll have a few pics from when we met at Dunedin brewing the year before. The 3 Sheeps variety pack is what he sent for last Christmas in exchange for some Last Snow. We lost a really great friend, deepest sympathies to MS. J and the family.

 

Have a good Saturday. Had 2 job related mental breakdowns at work last night, but now I am out for breakfast with my uncle. My mom flew into Hopkins last night. I am having a thirsty dog ipa. Tastes like cascade and Simcoe hops. A bit rough but warming. Just been existing for now. Going to write a black metal song this week.

Starting out with a nice light and easy Saison today, outside before the cold rain pervades throughout the afternoon.

Pending a post in New Beer Weekend once that is up and running, this is a good saison, mostly Belgian Yeast, minimal funkiness was the primary disappointment. Like their other saisons better.

Will return with @scream tribute beers and other adult beverages.
