Not as exciting as some things in this thread but I bought a 4pack of imperial nugget. Pretty psyched since I really liked golden nugget so this has to be good too

Assassin hasn’t been Assassin since 2014. Haven’t been a fan since. Easy pass.

I thought last year’s assassin was great.

 

2019 was also spectacular!

 

2014 Assassin was $20 per bottle. I personally bought 1 case over 3 days. KBBS was $25 a bottle not long after. Mike took a "vacation" in late 2014 so no 2015 anything barrel aged. That's when, on Twitter, Clark says "change your Twitter status asshole" to Mike when he was brewing at Treehouse. LOL. I still have the screenshots. Then he same back, lower quality, max profits, etc.....

 

That doesn't actually elaborate upon anything in regards to the quality, flavor, aroma, texture, etc. But if you can taste all that then I guess it would be disappointing.

 

The biggest difference I could discern from 2014 and the vintages that came after is the presence of dark fruit in the taste. 2016 and 2018 had a good bit in comparison to 2014. I felt 2019 had a bit less/least dark fruit flavors since the ‘14. I personally don’t mind that in the taste, but I know some aren’t all that excited when they taste it.

Separately from dark fruit notes, I thought ‘20 vintage was a bit thinner than the rest. But then again, I never had this right next to others and years of ‘ticking’/drinking will have undoubtedly clouded some of my memory (and impressions I had of beer(s) 5+ years ago).

 

Drank the double barrel assassin last pm. Nice thickness. Decent heat and mouthfeel. Not overly sweet. Tasted excellent to me.

I think everyone in this thread has probably had some experience with Drunk and/or Belligerent Twitter Clark somewhere along the line. It sounds totally believable based on that history alone but I too would like to see the receipts for this claim.
