Good morning advocates. It’s WrestleMania weekend, so I was up after a short nap to catch up on what I missed from last night’s show. Drinking this while watching, will probably nap for a bit soon so I’m ready for a day of doing not much since the weather is so bad here. Great day yesterday in the thread. This is a cross post with New Beer Sunday 841, embedded in the NBW thread. It's my first go at a famous barleywine, and I am very happy to have cracked this open to start my day.

Full review linked, long story short, this is a wonderful looking and balanced drinking barleywine, right up my wheelhouse.

WXTR's Saturday Morning Flashback started slow, but picked up steam with great songs as it progressed. A dual year tribute 2000/2001, I believe the first time the cracked the 21st century. Here are two from yesterday's show, from the year 2000, from the year 2000!:

Good morning, all! After a couple days of balmy tropical weather here in the Cedar Valley, it looks like we're heading back into porter season. What could be better on a cold, dreary, rainy day? This is Surly Mortal Sun, a nice roasty American porter that's dry-hopped to hell and gone. I got this in a Surly variety pack a long time ago. It doesn't seem any worse for wear, though. It's drinking just fine, and the zesty bitter hop kick is still there. What's in YOUR snifter today?

 

It might be miss named by me, but I call it an Imperial Export Irish Stout, 10.2% ABV. It's from a Muntons Premium Irish Stout and an Export Stout kit, I brewed , mixed up individual kits added some adjuncts and a hops tea from my own fresh frozen vacuumed sealed hops mix (Spalter and Opal) I was gonna call it The Tale of Two Stouts, and bottle them separately, then changed my mind, got lazy. I added some more hops tea to the priming solution drained off both fermenters into the 60 liter bottling bucket and 2 weeks later I've got some enjoyable Bier.

I'd share a photo, but it's proving outside my capabilities, that insert picture thing, wants an HTTPS and don't seem to browse a folder, so... a description, it's as black as your screen when turned off.

LOL, yep, sorry, in my defense, I have to wear a lot of hats.
I'll try to contribute a lot more, specially if someone explains how to post photos of my Bier and stuff.

I'm one of the red headed step kids.... ;-) You see the cobbled together pipe tape for holding the bügel on the flasche? I'm from the side of the tracks without Rolexes ahhahah but the some good stinky Alpkäse is cheap ... so no problem :-D

Good day BAs! Off to a nice sunny start to the day. My son dropped by to tell me our trip to Germany was cancelled AGAIN - thanks COVID! Oh well, maybe next March will come off. Still looks good for Iceland in July, however. Today's New Breakfast Beer and a cross post with NBW:



Thanks @Rub_This_BBQ for this excellent DIPA - this is the second Wormtown brew I've had and is head and shoulders above the first (Citrus and Sunshine). Rating 3.95, rDev -4.8%.
