Man...how’s about replacing Sunmerfest with Southern Gothic (Keller Pils / Zwickel). Had never heard of it and had at a restaurant in South Carolina this summer...holy cow!!!

Southern Gothic is indeed a tasty beer, I had it on tap at the SN Mills River Brewery taproom.

Sierra Nevada is now more interested in producing Hazy beers. :slight_frown:

    Cheers!

Rebrand it as Hazy Pilsner and make a fortune.

Hopped with piny, citrus Pac Northwest hops and call it a modern Pils.

I’m sort of lost with them and all these goofy new releases such 10 different hazies and a apricot or nectarine ale, whatever the heck it is. Haven’t seen Porter or Stout in SoCal in maybe 10 years almost

Those beers are rarely seen in my area as well.

    Cheers!

A year ago I had two reliable sources of those two beers, they seemed to sell through their stock quickly. Suddenly, about 6 months ago, both sources dry. I fear I am now thrust into a market that doesn't get stout or Porter. Next time I make it to the more regular spot I'm going to inquire

Deschutes stout & porter is easier to find but SN is in range if I really want it. Endless cans of haze is squeezing dark beers out.

That's a shame. I could go for a 6'r of Summerfest right about now with the temps getting up.

Guess we'll have to get Prima Pils, Pikeland Pils or Sunshine Pils to scratch the itch on that.

I would recommend Sterling Pig Shoats Pils to you if it is available at your local beer retailers.

I do enjoy drinking Pikeland Pils and Troegs Sunshine Pils as well. I am not a fan of the changes made to brewing Prima Pils so I no longer buy that brand.

    Cheers!

Will do. That sounds like a very good new to me choice to try.

I will miss Summerfest, might just replace it by drinking more SNPA this summer.

    Bell's Lager of the Lakes.

But SNPA is good in rotation, too.

I just got back from grocery shopping at my local Wegman's and I purchased a six-pack of Sterling Pig Shoats Pilsner.

    Cheers!

Replacing beers with a summer session IPA or IPL is getting old. I agree that Sierra Nevada should branch out to more summer styles such as a Zwickel/Kellerbier, Kolsch, or other pale beer. I find it hard to believe that Summer Break, a session hazy IPA, is going to be groundbreaking for the company. What true craft beer drinker has had Hazy Little Thing and thought that it needs less alcohol and flavor?

Their Kolsch should be considered a white whale at this point. They’ll never make that again. Kellerpils, too.

Christ, I’d go crazy if they bottled those again.

I just noticed that Brooklyn Pilsner is no longer listed. That was an excellent beer also.

Oh yeah? How much for my bottle?

(actually, I think drank it about a year after the mix-pack came out -- didn't really hold up)

Hmm. Kolsch is still listed as "rotating" on BA. Never say never?

If they bottle it again, will it be juicy and crushable? Double dry hopped?

Well, truth be told -- I wasn't the biggest fan of the hops they used before. At least for a Kolsch.
