Heady Topper cases between Boston Logan and Tree House

No cases, and drops down here are infrequent. If you're stopping in Fort Point, head to Fort Point Market, they get every good beer that hits the state. And on your way out to Tree House I highly recommend Julios Liquors. Those two are some of the best shops we've got.

 

Many places, including some gas station, in VT sell Focal and Heady. But as Rysk22 said, getting cases would be a challenge except at the Brewery. Depending on your round trip route, it may not be a huge detour to head to source.

 

I could be wrong, but I think the only place you're gonna find cases these days is at the brewery. That said, you could very easily pick a town on your route and stop at a few stores and walk away with more than a case.

Oh and Heady is not sold in NH.

 

Not sure how are planning to take cases of beer on a plane, but if you're at the brewery, you can get up to 3 cases each of Heady and Focal plus some other beers not available anywhere else. All at a lower price. Unlike HF, there is also no line to pick up beer at the Alchemist.

 

That’s at least one extra suit case checked.

 

I hate to break it to you but you're not getting cases of Heady anywhere. Maybe you can get a 4 pk in the RI/Ma area but it goes fast. Many places limit it and upcharge as well so beware.

 

Simple answer is no. To even get Heady along your route in any quantity, you'd have to get incredibly lucky that it dropped within a day or two of your trip. To get a case, you'd have to get the prior mentioned stroke of luck AND to get any more than a four pack or two you'd have to visit mutliple locations continuing on your run of luck. As said, doesn't go to NH at all.

 

Pretty confident with everything opening back up due to people being vaccinated, the drops of Alchemist to MA have stopped. I run a store and my rep hasn’t heard anything and it was every 8 weeks or so and nothing lately.

 

Depending on how much time you have, and assuming you're not driving to the brewery in Stowe, I think your best shot to find Heady would be to swing north to Brattleboro VT and hit the Coop. This would add at least 2.5+ hours to your road trip (not accounting for traffic). The Coop gets drops on Thursdays and you're limited to three 4-packs each of Heady and Focal. Short of that, you're not going to find it in MA/NH as others have pointed out already.

Thanks for all the answers above - I was coming here to ask a similar question - flying to Boston next week, driving back to Pittsburgh, but sounds like i'm SOL without a major detour.

 

I've been wondering whether the (temporary) drop in VT tourism between ski season and the end of mud season will keep the CT/MA ditribution of Heady / Focal and a few other VT breweries continuing a little longer. I'd expect come summer that we wouldn't see it again for sure. I actually thought Alchemist would strop in CT during ski season but we got 3 different drops.

 

Speaking as a drop-in from the PNW forum,. Portland OR had a Heady drop about a month ago. I was flabbergasted.

My place in ri gets it every so often. No limits on it. I think they charge 16 4pk. Seen it last over 2 weeks without selling all.

 

It is an improvement that this topic can actually be discussed, as opposed to 5 years ago when someone would be laughed off the forum for asking this question.
