Haven't really been paying attention to their releases so I'm surprised to see a beer with some Nelson in it. Gonna have to check this out for myself. Thanks!

Got a few more FW singles.

Invincible Worlds was a great single hazy ipa with Mosaic and Waimea hops. Big juice, very smooth, low bitterness.

Misfit Stream WC ipa. Some old school malt and bitterness, but not overpowering. Some Pineapple and citrus.

Still quite a few Barrel Aged beers left at various FW locations. Going for $12 a can.

Does look like BA Vikings Lament is sold out in Sacramento though.

Visited the Monterey location earlier today. Haven’t had a lot of their stuff previously. Tried 9 different tasters. Pretty much everything was more or less in the 3.75-4 range. Pulp was the only big miss.

    Positives:
    *Belgian styles were solid
    *Friendly and efficient service
*Nice outdoor courtyard that’s shared with Peet’s coffee
    *Sushi served
*Do allow outside food & drinks
*Reasonably priced and large taster options.
    * Was able to grab some big ba beers to-go for $12ea

    Negatives:
*Sushi is only food option unless you bring it.
    *No big standout beers.
*IPA’s pretty much all taste the same.
*All the lagers listed on the taplist online that morning were taken off without notice. Apparently they took them for distro.

Overall: Worth a visit.(positives definitely outweigh negatives. I’m just being picky because that’s my job as a beer nerd).

When the wife and I fly into MRY for the day we usually stop at ASB first for lunch before heading over to Fieldworks to finish off the the day before heading back to MRY for our flight back to LAX. Sometimes we’ll pick up food from ASB or elsewhere and take to FW. ASB menu is pretty good.

Does ASB do flights or tasters? Didn’t see it on their menu.
Also, I’ve always wondered, are you a pilot or own your own plane?

They used to do tasters, but I'm honestly not sure if things have changed due to the pandemic. I know for a while at Fieldwork Berkeley they were only allowing two 5oz pours at a time, but now they're back to full flights.

Neither. Working for a major airline has lots of benefits. Flying is one of them. And it’s a bonus when you enjoy traveling and drinking good beer. So when I want something I’ll fly there.

Fieldwork Sacramento has been expanded since you were last up here. They took over the restaurant next door. They doubled their outdoor patio as well. Menu expanded to now include solid Pizzas. Surrounding area of midtown has many, many restaurants as well.

If you want to visit Slice, you should probably wait till they reopen the taproom. Hopefully May or June if things continue to go well in Placer County.

You forgot Urban Roots, plus they have a nice food menu to go with the amazing beer selection.

UR is my only must stop in sac. Super good food and a really stellar taplist. Slice is definitely on the must try list and FW is an excellent plan b if UR isn't feasible for whatever reason

I seem to remember Moksa was only about 15 minutes from Slice as well.

Super Saint Thomas. Huge double hazy ipa at 9.6%. Borderline Triple...with the abv. Big Mosaic hops bring the juice (citrus, melon) up front. Soft, drinkable even at the abv.

I was hoping these barrel aged beers would make it up to Portland, but doesn't look like it. That Viking's Lament sounds so good with the added licorice.

That's a little too big for my tastes, but I am stopping by at Fieldwork in San Ramon this weekend, so if they have it on draft, I'll try this one out.

Doubt they'll have SST on, but should be a fresh batch of the OG St Thomas recipe pouring...tasted great yesterday at Sac FW tasting room.
