Thanks again everyone, this is a real treat especially with a lockdown in place.

    To my sender:

I am a ticking geek and would rather have something new I haven't tried. I also like ciders and meads so go nuts. My list of what I have had are on RB by the same name. Good luck and thanks ahead of time.

Thanks to Electros for organizing. I have beer ratings on this site as well as the other site and Untappd.

I like trying new small scale breweries but pretty much open to any style.

    Bonjour,

To the person that got me, you will notice that my beer count on Untappd is quite high. As a teacher, I travel a lot for craft beer during my holidays. (Well, I used to...) My Untappd username is Sebado (Sébastien Bertrand). I enjoy trying new beers...I'm a proud ticker!

LIKES: Stouts, IPAs, Pumpkin Beers, Smoked Beers, Barleywines, Dubbels, Tripels, Quads, Barrel-aged beers especially in bourbon! Wild funky beers, lambics, Flanders Reds are good too.

DISLIKES: Sours tend to be painful to drink. I can't do pepper beers (jalapenos, chillies). Saison and Weizen are not my favourites.

For the person that I'll be sending beers to, I have visited your city in 2018. I did a 3 week road trip and visited most breweries in your province. I was not a fan of the two breweries in your town but the four in the suburbs where very good! Alas, one closed last year...

    Merci!

Thanks to everyone participating. Found this page just after the fall swap and have been waiting eagerly for this one.

To my sender: I love to try new beers. My favourites are the big flavour IPAs and Stouts but I also enjoy belgians, farmhouses, weizens, funky ales, etc.
I am not really picky. I would be happy with your favourites/your towns favourites.
My untappd is AustinUnger. Most of my check-ins are local so it shouldn't be too difficult to find things I haven't had.

Not really a fan of overly sour beers. I am slowly getting more into them but its going to take some time.

To my target: I have been preparing in case I got you by buying doubles of a style I also enjoy. Hopefully you enjoy them as much as I did.
I have only ever been to your city once but it was 15 years ago and I wasn't old enough to drink so I definitely need to go back.

    Thanks everyone,

Looking forward to another round of CANBIF that Electros is kindly QB'ing yet again.

    Dislike/I try to avoid:
    - Anything hazy
    - Anything with lactose
    - Anything made with hop powder
    - Anything as sweet as cola or cough syrup. Diabetes can wait.
    - Anything that tastes overly grassy or melony (e.g. Vic Secret, El Dorado hops - despise)

    Like:
    - Bitter, piney pale ales and IPAs that put hair on the chest (if Untappd had a Tom Selleck badge, I'd have level 100 already)
    - Sour & acidic sours. Barnyard is fine (like the schtank).
    - Crisp, clean, defect-free lagers: Pils, lager, Helles, Kolsch, and drier interpretations of the bock family
    - Most Belgian ales, preferably on the drier side
    - Barleywine, old ale, imperial stouts. Barrel-aged preferred (but not expecting budget-busters, to be fair).

Also, I'd much rather drink a beer I've had, and like (e.g. Firestone Walker Anniversary Ale ), than a new beer that's mediocre just for the sake of a "tick". I don't know how many uniques I've had, and don't care  Lastly, I'm on Untappd here.

Thank you to my senders for their time, effort and generosity, which is what CANBIF is all about celebrating.

Obviously, I have to start by thanking Electros for making this happen. I did something similar many years ago and I know how time consuming it can be.

    To my target,

I have never been to your city though it is not that far from where I live. I will try very hard to meet your wishes. I have already started to buy you some local beers.

    To my Santa Claus

I could list many big beers I would like to get but I will keep it simple.

I am a big fan of stouts and porters (imperial, barrel-aged, etc.): the darker, the thicker, the better!

IPAs are also welcome as are any other styles, especially if they are on the bitter side. I have Five-Alive juice in my fridge for the sweet ones.

You can also throw in ice ciders and meads.

I am not a big fan of sours that require a bottle of Pepto Bismol as a shooter.

I would appreciate receiving beers from your areas that are not that accessible in the Gatineau/Ottawa area.

I am GRM on RateBeer and Barbu on untappd.

LIKE : Wild funky beer, sour, IPAs, Pilsner, helles, + Cider. I really enjoy good Stout but I'm not a big fan

DISLIKE : Belgian strong ale, Dubbel, Trippel, Quadruppel, Barleywine, Anything as sweet as sirup

    To my target:
    - You are west of me
    - If I want to meet you to give you my package, I have to drive for more than 40 hours
    - My girl friends have family in your city

Back after a few years-ish off from this.

Due to Covid, I have zero cellar beers left, so my target will be getting mostly fresh goods! And most everything will likely be from BC. Haven't been to my targets province in half a decade. Sorry my Floodland is all gone for now :joy:

I'd actually request the same to my sender, I don't need beers that have been sitting a long time. Sure I love barrel aged stouts and barleywines, but would prefer more recent releases if going that route. Very unlikely I've have had any 2020 or recent of anything from where you are. Have picked up hardly any imports lately, nor traded at all. Don't really need any IPAs unless you've got a super banger you think I must try (we are absolutely flush with IPA and more IPA here, and then more IPA). I'm @JonnyBeers on Untappd

We get quite a few things from Eastern Canada but selection seems to be lacking a little lately other than the usual suspects. I love Saisons and proper sours, but not battery acid. Not a fan or kettle sours and/or exploding fruit smoothies. Really I'll drink anything though. If you enjoy the beer, I'm happy to try it!

Firstly, thanks to Electros for continuing to organize this! I'm happy to be back after taking a break for the last two exchanges.

    To my sender:
My "hads" are sadly not up to date on here, but my Untappd is up to date at https://untappd.com/user/curtismoncton/beers .

I'm quite easy to please, I just want to try whatever you think are great local beers that I can't get here. Really appreciate anything in the top 100 I haven't tried, but don't worry too much about that. My least favorite styles are herb/spiced beers, fruit or pumpkin, and farmhouse/sour/wild but I try to have an open mind.

Thanks Electros for putting another installment of this together.

Send me anything you want. I have a thing for english session ale, saison (both clean and mixed ferm), well made lager, big stouts and barley wine. I enjoy well hopped beer, but I don't believe it travels well (I rarely send IPA for this reason). That being said if you are convinced this is the best IPA you have ever tasted and need to send it to me, go ahead. I don't love super acidic/crazy sour beer. Finally please don't send me any puree bombs, not a judgement call on adding unfermented things to finished beer just purely a safety issue.

I am TheBeerHobo on untapp'd I will happily drink a thing I have enjoyed before.

My target is west of me and has been doing Canbif for a long time.

PREFERENCES: Preferably the bulk of the bottles/cans at the lower end of the ABV scale, 4%-6%, with a little bit of at the other end (BA stouts, etc.). That is, I only open bigger ABV stuff 7%+ occasionally. For styles- IPA's, pale ales, wheat beers, gose, saisons, CDA's...not picky. Basically, anything that you think tastes good and is worth giving a try.

DISLIKES: Nothing much really. Not a huge fan of barley wines but there have been exceptions. Not a big fan of smoothie-type beers either, or supper chunky/hazy stuff.

Wish list: Anything from Hopfenstark (esp. Postcolonnial IPA), Allagash, Badlands stuff, Barncat BA stouts. I also got some cans of Gose from "Bistro 67 - All or Nothing Brewhouse" that I LOVED last time around.

I have yet to have a BA stout from Barncat that was anything short of world class.

Thanks to Electros for including my dumb ass again.

I am good with pretty much anything. Not a big smoke or coffee flavour. Can do with small coffee in stouts but please keep that awesome coffee infused whale for yourself.

I am listed on the other site and untapped under the same name.

To my sender, I am pretty easy to please. I definitely enjoy trying new beers/brewery, but identify as a fanboy for anything hype. There isn't too much that I don't like, but I'm not seeking super sour/acid reflux bombs. Variety is typically appreciated and I do quite enjoy well crafted lagers, especially as we approach warmer weather.

Thank you in advance, I'm sure I will love whatever selection that is curated for me. The anticipation of receiving a box and opening it is what keeps me coming back...haha.

To my target, you've posted on here recently so I've got an idea of what to put together. This box will be traveling from one side of the country to the other. Might throw out some more hints as I put together your box.

    Cheers fellas!

    Thanks again @Electros !
