Maplewood (2021)

Both Hazelnut and Peanutbutter Coconut were fantastic. I look forward to trying Vanilla Rye soon, have heard nothing but good things here.

 

I think I realized I don’t like peanut butter in beers after I had the PB/coconut cuppa. Wasn’t terrible when I had PB/marshamallow popinski but something with the cuppa was very bitter. It almost reminded me of that powdered peanut butter they make and the flavors I get from that. Didn’t win any other lotteries so I can’t compare

 

That makes sense to me. Isn’t peanut butter flour the go to method for getting that flavor? So that comparison lines up

 

Morbidly Obese Pug is very tasty on draft. Good chocolate flavor, not too sweet and nice smooth mouthfeel. I was hoping for Cuppa on tap but this was a nice substitute.

 

You (yeah I’m talking to you) didn’t come here to post about Cuppa French Vanilla going live for pre-order. May I ask why? Step it up, son

I passed despite really digging the Cuppas over the last 12 months. I’m a little worn on the PB bomb stouts. Is it just me?

 

I maxed out. First time I’ve done that with these. Because, inevitably, I always end up wishing I had bought more than what I usually get.

 

Haha I get that. I wish I had maxed on Cuppaccino. I look forward to that returning along with S’mores and Neapolitan hopefully soon.

 

Neapolitan was my favorite, I think. Looking forward to that.

 

Question for the locals...appears that Maplewood has done away with reservations since the last time I was in town. Is it back to lining up just to get in on a normal Saturday afternoon??

 

Went to Maplewood Sat. 10/23 around 8pm. They had a handful of tables set up outside, but not the pods (yet?). Wasn't any tables open when we ordered, so we sat outside for a few minutes until 2 seats at the bar opened up. No line, busy but not packed.

Won my first one by Maplewood and first time on Oznr. Pretty excited to have a Cuppa beer finally.

 

Cuppa Tater Juice. Probably would've bought it if I wasn't busy living that Costco life.
