They all have their own personalities and feel. If I had to pick a favorite though, it's my Paul Reed Smith 20th anniversary model. That guitar is just incredibly versatile and plays like butter. It has a really warm sound that I like and it can cover just about any style of music. That's the one I probably play the most since it's hanging on the wall and I can just grab it and play. Cheers!!!!

Home from work, first time trying this beer from this brewery. It didn’t disappoint. Cheers all!

I’m not a guitarist, but the P.R.S is just so pretty. I would play those, if I knew how.

Well, it's got a hot sauce/sour cream sauce, and a fried egg, so it's probably not all that healthy. Nutritious, though!

PRS makes exquisite instruments, like a fine piece of furniture. The attention to detail is outstanding. I love their signature bird inlays - the motif was a little different on the 20th anniversary model and was supposed to represent birds in motion. They have a private stock division - these are guitars they make from Paul's private stock of wood - $$$$$$$$$$$$$ - but some are just works of art. These guitars typically sell for anywhere from 5K upwards.

I’ve thought about getting one for purely decorative purposes, but I need to win the lottery first!

White Elm Chocolate Hazelnut Oatmeal Stout (Imperial Pastry Stout), 8% ABV. Pours thick, owing to chocolate syrup, with a one-finger brown head. Nose is strong chocolate and some hazelnut. Taste follows, with the chocolate overpowering the hazelnut, quite sweet but not cloying, slightly bitter. Excellent smooth and thick mouthfeel, overall outstanding. Nose is better than the flavor.

...light snow has been falling since 3 PM, my letter and package are sealed up and ready to drop-off at the post office tomorrow...John Zorn's 'At The Gates of Paradise' has been on repeat mode for about the past 90 minutes - and I'm not complaining...a snort of Old Potrero straight rye seems about right...

I would review this, but this isn't Juice Advocate, so... :stuck_out_tongue:

Awesome stuff, though. Ridiculously drinkable 7.5% fruited sour with amazing balance between all of the fruit flavors and an actually-appropriate lactose addition. Loved the last Slush Punch I had, so I grabbed this new one and it's just as good, if not better!

[IMG] Tonight's Battle Beer Tasting Lineup (Correctly identified 2 of the 3 pairs):

    1) Josephsbrau Czech Pilsner (5.4%): A Czech-style Pilsner from Trader Joe’s that has crackery and grassy flavors. Moderate flavors of buttery bread follow. Less diacetyl.
    versus
    2) Pilsner Urquell (4.4%): A traditional Czech Pilsner that has strong buttery and bready flavors from diacetyl, an off-flavor characteristic to this beer. Incredibly strong for the ABV.

    3) Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA (6.0%): An IPA from Delaware with resinous and earthy flavors of orange citrus. Vague fruit flavors with a strong spiced caramel malt profile.
    versus
    4) Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo IPA (7.2%): A classic IPA from California that has strong and earthy hop flavors of orange and pine. Has the Sierra Nevada pine soap quality. Similar malt profile.

    5) Lift Bridge Fireside Flannel (5.5%): A brown ale from Minnesota that has mild caramel, brown sugar, and smoked nut flavors. Dry for a brown ale.
    versus
    6) Bent Paddle Black (6.0%): A black ale from Minnesota with chocolate and dark malt flavors. Mild espresso roast.
(Misidentified these two in the blind taste test)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    2) Pilsner Urquell: Josephsbrau was better than I expected, however this one has the quintessential buttery diacetyl flavor. It only works in this beer and this one is unmistakable.

    4) Sierra Nevada's Torpedo IPA: This one is a classic and has everything you want in a Sierra Nevada beer. Similar, but their Pale Ale but stronger. The orange and sudsy pine soap flavors shine. 60 Minute IPA was too vague, but had a similarly nice caramel malt profile.

    5) Lift Bridge Fireside Flannel: This one had more complex and brown malt flavors, which I preferred. Still drinkable and dry.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you find the 60 minute IPA to be vague and underwhelming in hop flavor?
Do you also get a sudsy orange and pine soap flavor from Torpedo IPA and Sierra Nevada?
Have you tried Fireside Flannel and what did you think?
