Totally agree and especially in an industrial park area. Very unfortunate for P3 and their customers

90-min wait around 3 and the Ovations had kicked. No thanks.

Yeah I stopped by a little after 12 and was told the wait would be 90 minutes. There were all sorts of people camped out in their cars with kids and dogs and stuff. Ended up just taking off.

I can sort of understand why their neighbors do get upset with all of the people just hanging out around there, it is an industrial park area.

I also stopped there around 12:30, took one look at the situation and then set the GPS for Revolution.

Despite the one earlier review, did anyone get to try the Ovation series? I’m very interested in opinions.

Afternoon everyone. I'm making my way down on Saturday for my first trip to P3 to pickup my b8. I was planning to be there at open and reading through the last couple days of posts am I reading right that it fills up pretty quick? Trying to decide if I stick around for a pour or two or set my sight at other stops on the way back home. Thanks!

That was largely driven by the 2nd anniversary offerings last weekend. I wouldn't expect it to be as crazy this weekend

You should be fine. Last week was their 2 year anniversary party, so they had a lot of limited, exclusive drafts/bottles available. There normally isn't a wait at open (things may change once the nice weather picks up).

Thanks for the intel. Is it a fair statement to say that the strength of the "Dark and Roasty" section of the taplist drives the crowd size?

Yes, I got to try them all, as well as C8.

Neapolitan - the nose was a super hit of overwhelming strawberry, lightly carbonated, thick, and spot on for sweetness. Vanilla undetectable behind the chocolate and strawberry.

Peanut Butter - thick and boozy, faint peanut butter nose, solid peanut butter taste, lightly carbonated, got better and better as it warmed. Unfortunately, this one was judged in my mind against the pour of Euonia 1 I had on Monday, and Euonia blew it away.

Pressed - Coffee + Maple - Jumbled muddy flavors that were not unenjoyable, but god help you trying to untangled them. There was a hit of bitterness in the beginning, with a transition to...just a beetus bomb of sweetness.

Cannoli - Pistachio and vanilla on the nose and the tongue, better as it warmed. Not a huge pistachio fan, but this was a very enjoyable beer. A hint of cinnamon as well.

    Neapolitan>Peanut Butter>Cannoli>Pressed

Yes though it often can be related to bottle pickups. For example, if the weather is nice and its the first Eunoia pickup window, it will be very busy even if there isn’t a major stout on draft.

Being an industrial park is why I think it’s weird they care. It’s not like there are people in houses nearby.

I could see if you were their neighbor in the park, and had to come in on the weekend for some rush production and could NOT get a parking spot due to a swarm of neckbeards...yeah, that would probably piss me off.

I'm sure the performance automotive store loves it that they keeps their showpiece cars in the same lot that idiots hopped up on stouts drive in and out of there all day.

I've seen some pretty fancy cars sitting there.

Made it down there on Saturday (first visit) and came away very impressed. Not a big IPA guy so the taplist wasn't to my liking but the ones I had were actually quite good and enjoyed them along with my stout and sour pours. I was surprised how fast they filled up (again, first visit so I didn't know) but felt the protocols they had in place for the virus were adequate and I felt fairly safe inside.

I'm hoping a local can help me out with this. While waiting at the door to get in I was chatting with a couple people talking about a brewery in the area that did only lagers and carbonated they by krausening. But after drinking a couple rounds now the name escapes me; does anybody know what brewery he was talking about?

It’s possible they were talking about Goldfinger 45 minutes away in Downers Grove

it could also have been Roaring Table right down the road from P3 which has a very good lager program. (But they do other stuff too) Goldfinger brews lager exclusively

also could have been dovetail in Chicago.

Drank a Nowt, it’s up there with Cross of Gold until you pour the last oz in the glass and then it gets cloudy and astringent. Leave it in the can.

I think that is the place I will stop next time I'm down that way (of course stopping at P3 first). My fuzzy memory recalls him saying it was like 30-40 minutes away and their web page seems similar to what he was talking about. Thanks for the intel!
