[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup: (All 3 out of 3 pairs correctly identified blind)

    1) Guinness Harp Lager (4.5%): An Irish lager from Guinness with smooth and malty flavors of bread, cereal and potato. Slightly rubbery.
    versus
    2) Peter’s Brand Classic Lager (5.0%): A German Lager with flavors of honey, earthy bread spice, and faint lemonflower hops. Authentically German.

    3) Hop Valley Brewing Bubble Stash (6.2%): A west-coast IPA from Oregon made with Mosaic hops that has a strong dank orange, melon, and pineapple flavor. Dank and floral.
    versus
    4) Fulton’s 300 IPA (7.0%): An IPA Minnesota made with Mosaic hops that has strong, dank tropical melon, pineapple, and green flower. I describe it as a dinosaur melon flavor. Extremely similar, but bigger, more bitter, and sweeter.

    5) Great Lakes’ Edmund Fitzgerald Porter (6.0%): A standard porter from Ohio that was named after the sinking of the Edmund Fizgerald ship in Lake Erie in 1975. Flavors are balanced of chocolate, cream, and roast.
    versus
    6) Bells’ Kalamazoo Stout (6.0%): A stout from Michigan brewed since 1987 that has fantastic dark chocolate, malt, and roast flavors, while being dry.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    2) Peter's Brand Classic Lager: This one has a fantastic smooth honey and lemonflower flavor and tastes authentically German. More complex than Harp Lager, which often tastes rubbery to me.

    3) Hop Valley Bubble Stash IPA: Hard to call a winner between these two, but this one was excellent. Strong, authentic, dank Mosaic flavors and impressive in flavor and feel for the lower ABV.

    5) Edmund Fitzgerald Porter: This has become one of my favorite porters. Strong milk chocolate has just enough roast to balance.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried either of the lagers and did you enjoy them?
Have you tried either of the two Mosaic IPAs: Bubble Stash or 300 IPA?
Do you prefer the Edmund Fitzgerald or the Kalamazoo Stout? I have a feeling it might depend whether you're from Ohio or Michigan.

The steaks were super thin (especially for ribeyes!), so even though I chopped off a bunch of my normal sear and broil times, they still ended up a solid medium - and I always go for rare to medium rare. But the flavor was on point, no question, and the sprouts and potatoes were fantastic. :grinning:

My girl wants rosemary garlic roasted potatoes, sprouts, and seared steaks on her birthday? She's gettin' it.
