    I just noticed that Frontier Brewing in Casper has Summerfest on draught right now. I will take one for the team and try it tomorrow..

    They never had it but Old Chicago did and it was on draught.

    For the longest time, in my youthful heydays, the Porter was my last (draft) pint on a Friday night. Ah, the good ol' days. :slight_smile:

    And...it's as fresh as fresh can be. Excuse me while I get another pint.

    Are there any good Doppelbocks at Frontier Brewing!?! :confused:

    Cheers!

    There are no locally brewed Doppelbocks in town.

    One brewery here though has an Imperial Stout and a Belgian Tripel sitting in barrels right now which I had the pleasure of sampling yesterday. Good times ahead.

    I'm unclear on this - is this Sierra Nevada Summerfest on a "guest tap" (kegged in '20 or '21? If the former, most wouldn't call it "fresh") or a beer brewed by Frontier using the the trademarked Summerfest brand name, still active according to the USPO TESS?

    Yes, a guest tap. Frontier always has guest taps. The Summerfest was crisp and nicely hopped so it can not be from 2020. It's too delicate a beer to not lose what it has if it was ~1 year old.

    Interesting. Sierra Nevada's page for Summerfest says:

    We haven't brewed any yet, so this is for sure 2020... North Carolina has a batch in tank that will be kegged soon and on tap in the pub. We plan on doing a small can beer run in Chico ~100-120 bbl for Chico "proper" (city limits) distribution, Direct to Consumer and our gift shops. Release date is scheduled for the week before the 4th of July. Should be enough volume to last through July. Also on draught in Chico and our pubs.

    So what it eventually takes for Summerfest to be released in the actual Summer (instead of discontinued by then) is turning it back into a limited/local release beer? I honestly don’t know whether to like or hate this.

    I do know i look forward to grabbing some if I’m up that way mid-summer.

    I'm a big SN fan, but very few of their beers are available where I live now so I won't miss Summerfest-I'm not sure I've ever had it. All that's commonly available here is Torpedo and Pale Ale. Where I used to live I could occasionally find Kellerwiess and the stout, but that was rare.

    Dang, for a lightish beer, it is amazingly tasty for being several months old. How does SN do it?

    @Bitterbill :grimacing:

    I think you need to talk to those proprietors.
