I have had two cans & both times had a lot of rye, chocolate, & barrel notes. Must be can variation like someone else mentioned...?

 

This is what I am going with. I think you are onto something here.

 

I had a similar experience. I'm a rye junkie & this had enough to make me happy, which isn't common. Great beer IMHO. And although I know reviewers are a tiny percentage of folks who sample the beer it has a 4.41 average at this point (though all grade-inflated numbers should be taken with a large grain of salt...).

 

Though I disagree with O&O, I too love rye especially in stouts. I think they struck gold with Thundertaker and really hope that base finds its way into other barrels.

 

...unless they are rum barrels, in my humble opinion.

Which is to say, I'm not so into the new Cuvee de Grace. It's a good beer, don't get me wrong, but the rum comes on STRONG on the aftertaste and was not my bag. However, if you are a rum lover, I think you'll find a lot to like about this one.

Selfishly, I'm hoping they emptied out the last of the rum barrels on this one...if not, it might a long Deep Woods year for me!

 

I vote for cognac barrels, I love Mineshaft Gap!

 

I went to Binny’s and they weren’t sure when they’d be getting Cuvee, anyone know?

Ditto! I've seen Mineshaft Gap in stores still and thus far have resisted the temptation to pick more up.

I went with more Ryeway.

 

Walked by a Deth by Cherries 4 pack one too many times and finally gave in.

 

I can’t argue with any of this. At least every other week I still end up purchasing a DW pack from my Binny’s. It’s been a few trips since I bought a Cherry, so that might have to be next!

 

Nice... I hear that voice in my head all the time. Like @flat_lander , I bought more Ryeway (six 4pks total), and after four 4pks of Mineshaft, I just cannot afford any more!

 

I just wish I still had Deth's Tar in town. SJ, Cafe, Mineshaft, and Ryeway all still around if you poke around. DT is long gone...

 

Oh yeah - DT was scarce out of the gate. Back a few weeks ago I saw stragglers at Binny's just outside the city, and their website still shows stock at North Riverside, River Grove, Evanston, 3 Chicago locations, Rockford, Peoria.

 

There is a place by me that had DT for a long time, and their website says they still have it in stock. Their website isn't always accurate though.

Binny's Bloomington says Limited Availability on their website. Might be worth a call for you?
