I've been doing the internet message board thing for probably 15 years now. I've done general chat, death metal, video games, professional wrestling, NFL, indie rock, journalism, vinyl record collecting, and countless other random things.

This, by far, is one of the tightest knit, welcoming, generous communities. I love it. I've had BA's send me beer and completely refuse reciprocation. I just had a good chat with a BA about meeting up and swapping some brews. There's a few BA's that I'd like to call out as being favorites of mine, but I'm not drunk enough yet, and don't want to leave anyone out.

Anyway, here's what I've been on the past hour or so :

 

My sour squash beer with Brettanomyces. OMG!!

 

First of the night. Hoppin Frog - Hop Heathen Imperial Black IPA

 

It's nice to ride those waves when they hit ya- "I don't want this glass of beer to end"...and it doesn't! Hooray for more beer!

 

I shall join you with my last Zombie Dust.

 

First try of this SA product, nice bitterness with just a hint of chocolate. Nice solid brew as to be expected from the big boys in Boston. I would buy it again.

I was actually thinking of bowing out of the beer community because as a death metaller myself, maybe I am setting myself up, but I feel like I can not be as welcome as most. Our views are different, we are seen as different. This is probably wrong, but I feel like this.

 

Moved on, picked a few of these up yesterday.

****For anyone who remembers all the trouble I've had posting pictures in here...HOLY @#$%!!!! Is that a picture I see? I knew these phones were good for something besides playing Angry Birds and an app flippin' a lighter open at concerts. (It's about @#$%'n time this worked.)*** I tip my glass to JoeyBeerBelly for painstakingly walking my sorry @ss through this process more than once, it finally paid off, dude. Cheers, my friend!!

 

In this round of Ninja vs Unicorn, the round goes to Unicorn! Pipeworks Galaxy Unicorn. This is the best Pipeworks beer I've had yet.

Whoa, what makes you think death metal isn't accepted in beer? I really don't understand. Even if the people themselves don't listen to the music, they're pretty accepting of whatever. Don't leave man. Listen to some Lacuna Coil (Italy!), some At The Gates, drink some beer. Even if, IF, they don't like it, so what. That's a big part of the metal community man, not giving a fuck.

Edit : At worst, I got your fuckin' back, man.

It's pretty good. Slightly more sour than most Berliners I've had. There's an off note (slight burnt rubber) in the aroma that I think is going away as the beer breathes, but otherwise it's very nice.
