Bissell (2021)

Really wanted to try that and Spruce Substance but I won’t be in Maine anytime soon and I’ve had no luck trading for em

Anyone know if they were any good?

 

Anyone know when Portland location will be open for on site pours? Planning on being there in late June.

 

I haven’t seen anything on BBB’s social media about a planned reopening yet.

 

They’re already interviewing and painted the inside. It will be very soon I’m sure. Peters been hinting at it. No reason not to

 

Yes I saw a social media post 2-3 weeks back that they were interviewing for food service positions, as it seems Bissell will be directly taking over the adjacent space rather than having it serve as a separate operation.

 

What's up with Bissell these days? I had a Swish from March and it tasted like homebrew; same was true with Real Ones.

 

I haven’t had Swish in some time, but I have had Substance, and thought it was excellent.

 

We get it here in the seacoast all over. Tastes the same every time. Still amazing stuff

 

Just had brother-in-law bring down OG Substance (first time - delicious) and Swish (as good as I remember)

 

That hasn’t been my experience at all, but Bissell has always had a fairly unique flavor profile, so maybe it’s just not working for you? Palates do change over time.

 

Well, hopefully it is just my issue then. My favorite from them has always been Lux. I plan to grab some this summer and hopefully it tastes just like I remember it as I haven't found a good substitute for Lux.

 

That’s like Substance for me, Swish is delicious but the flavor profile in Substance is really unique IMO and I haven’t come across many IPAs like it. Can’t wait to get some fresh cans again

 

Will be around hopefully this week in stores, just did my preorder a few weeks back and I think it’s this week. Keep your eyes peeled

 

Agreed with Lux -- don't see many brewers making beers of that ilk anymore.

Always really enjoyed Reciprocal too -- am hoping to get a few of those this summer.

 

Consider this my official conclusion on my terrible round of golf yesterday: I blame the wind and the two Substance my friend gave me.

 

For a long time I stopped all drinking during golf because I noticed that even the slightest half-buzz took me off my game. Then I’ve come around to realize I just suck at golf, so I may as well toss back a few. It’s much more enjoyable now.

 

I haven't had it in a long time, but Reciprocal was my favorite Bissell beer when I had easier access to their portfolio (they send Susbtance + down here, every once in a while).
