First beer today, an insane selection for the morning. Cross post with the Bock tasting thread, and pending a New Beer Weekend Post once someone opens that thread up.

Castle Brewery Eggenberg 2019 Samichlaus Helles



Long story short, it was insane to open this bottle in the morning. I have a few ounces left and while I will complete it, I'm not certain of the consequences. I only feared Keyser Soze prior to this pour, I fear Samichlaus more.

Saturday Morning Flashback is 1985 this morning, several great tunes already, here are two to kick things off here.

Hey BA's and happy Bocky Saturday!

I think I will just say up front, that....
a) this is my fav bock glass - very unusual!
b) Wooly Pig here in Ohio is killing it with their beers - this Manganator doppelbock is freakin' delicious and a perfect after (3 miler) hike brew!

Short review.....big frothy cramy head, bad pour on my part, aroma of big bready biscuits, toffee, raisins, figs and other dried fruits.....no hop presence at all, and the look of the beer is about as great as the smell....super delish!

If you are ever in central Ohio, and want a treat, go visit Wooly Pig in Fresno.....awesome! Rated at a solid 4.5 across the board!

Saturday morning and time for a Bud.

 

Happy Saturday BA's! I got the laundry done, lawn mowed, car washed, back deck emptied so the wife can clean the floor after work. Sam Wicked Hazy as I cool down. Meeting an extremely knowledge BA for a few beers at Infinite Ale Works around lunchtime.

 

Hey BA's

This is probably the least expensive bock beer I will consume this weekend.....and my expectations are low.....

Here's my review - smell - like cheap beer / taste - dark fruit dipped in beer / mouthfeel - light - but drinkable
I give it a 3.2 overall.....at least it has a goat on the label!

So many chores to do today so Teddy is helping out by throwing a load in the washerAlready worked half a day, did some baking and now its time for a bock break

I got outside and walked a few miles around my neighborhood. Spotted a blue heron hunting the creek that runs through our park. Dodged the rain, now I am watching the 2019 Paris Roubaix bike race, drinking a Bierkeller Bockbier.

 

Teddy is one helpful pup!

 

A nice warm sunny day. We're going to hit the Farmer's Market and have some lunch downtown.
This beer hits the spot.

Stopped by Half Time in Mamaroneck, NY, to pick up my IPA Fest allotment (so excited!). Decided to crack open cananDANKua from Other Half Brewing Co in Brooklyn, NY. Just a lovely fruity and, dare I say, minty experience.
