What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3109

I know nothing about smoked beers, but I assume they smoke the barley malt kinda like how Laphroaig starts it’s life? Love smokey whiskeys, only had one smoked beer and I thought it fairly mild.

This is the earliest I've had a beer in a long time. But Wifey just went out for the day with her friends, so what the hell. And I'm having a good beer, too. Founders Breakfast Stout. I legitimately can't recall anyone ever saying bad things about this one.

 

Peeber for the start. No coffee so oh well. I’m in trouble folks because I didn’t know that when I moved there would be a hole in the wall cafe/donut shop 30 second walk from my front door. And the place is awesome. Went with some apple cider dones. All homemade same morning. Out-fuckin-standing. Donuts are an absolute weakness.

Found this vintage 2012 BA brew and Bockzilla old glass as well - seemed like a good thing to start a cloudy and cool day.....



not much carbonation, or barrel flavor, but it is a 9 year old beer

 

Happy Sunday BA's! Usual day here, wife and I both worked, run, laundry, beer shopping complete. Time to relax with a bit of 2021 Hunaphu, amazing again this year. Brunch prep will kick off shortly. Big storm blew thru about 0730, the sun is breaking thru now.

 

This is a really nice DIPA.

 

Starting with a new to me beer, and joining the Bock fun today - Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier - Urbock, in my Kozel mug from Prague:



Smokey, burnt bacon nose. “Burnt ends” taste, toasted brown bread with some malt sweetness in the background. The smoke is mild, taste is more toast with slight char. Glad I tried it - Cheers and have a wonderful Sunday y’all!

Getting ready to watch the Indy Car race and then some baseball. Sunday cheers!

 

Starting a bit early it’s humid today, usually I’m a 12 o clock guy.

Lawson’s Little Sip, a PA 6.2 abv, badly named imo sounds like a session IPA, canned on 3/15, so it’s under 6 weeks old, and from the cooler. Very fruit forward without being sweet, still a very Lawson like firm bitterness, just not quite as much as Sip of Sunshine, a bit lighter and brighter as well. Right from the can which is where I kinda prefer these beers, undisturbed by a vigorous pour, nose doesn’t work anyway, nice way to start a beer day, easily worth a buy.
