What the hell! It turns out I've been missing out on meat beer all these years. Why have you guys been holding out on me? relevant: Befuddled Larry Kudlow Rails That Biden Will Force Americans To Guzzle ‘Plant-Based Beer’
Well, the was a Boston Beer Co. beer, one of many Koch has discontinued ... OLD **** ALE (very limited but, you know what - no line). My favorite way to cook 'em! Lots of garlic and sweet onions with the sprouts cut in half, done in a wok on the side burner of the Weber (that counts as "grilling", right?)
Try deglazing the sprouts with a bit of balsamic vinegar, the good stuff not the crap from Walmart. Just a little, and garlic.
Quite! Although some finishing touches may not be. Like sea salt. Schell's Fort Road Helles Pale Lager has a salty finish. But to your point it really isn't in the base of the mix...but without it? It might be shite.
Well, I imagine Novozymes et al. do make something that would allow to turn plant biomass (cellulose) into fermentable sugars. Probably you can get used to the taste (c).
That's how I do them also, you roast fresh brussels sprouts this way you will never make em any way else ever again. Sometimes I skip the balsamic..
Theoretically you don't need yeast to make beer. It's just that yeast is extremely cost-efficient, self-propagating matrix that contains all the necessary enzymes. It's basically a nanobot we don't have to invent.
Light olive oil, salt and toss them in a cast iron pan. Cook in the oven at 400 till cooked. Amazing taste. Goes great with a plant based IPA. Enjoy
One of the top sellers on the menu at the brewery. Will be again at the restaurant this summer. Umami is the word that describes the flavor you get from these sprouts. 60# a day sold. Try it.
