Tonight's Battle Beer Tasting Lineup: (All 3 out of 3 pairs correctly identified in the blind taste testing)

1) Modelo Especial (4.4%): A smooth Mexican lager that has has smooth pale malts, and cracker flavors. Crisp and drinks clean.
Versus
2) Trader Joe’s Lager (5.0%): A Mexican-style lager from Trader Joe’s with bready malt and honey flavor. Slightly heavier and sweeter.

3) Lagunitas IPA (6.2%): The flagship IPA from Lagunitas that has flavors of citrus, green grape, pear.
Versus
4) Lagunitas Stereohopic IPA (7.2%): This newer release from Lagunitas with Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin hops has strong flavors of melon, green citrus, and lychee.

5) Surly’s Rivet Head (4.5%): An Irish dry stout from Minnesota that has
Versus
6) Guinness Draught (4.2%): The original Irish dry stout that is brewed with nitrogen infused to give it a creamy body and flavor

Winners:

1) Modelo Especial: This one had a more authentic German malt flavors. Also was more crisp and clean without being sweet.

4) Lagunitas Stereohopic: Hard to beat Lagunitas' flagship IPA, but I think this one does it. Similar, but slightly more green and juicy. Not too much overpowering sweetness like some Lagunitas IPAs are

6) Guinness Draught: Hard to beat the original Irish dry stout. They were similar, but the nitro helped this one. Not my favorite style, but Guinness goes down smooth like frothed milk.

Knocking a brew by Stoup, Global Superstar, an OG-style IPA, that has nice bitterness.

 

Mowed the lawn today and did a little brush cutting. I'm one wore out old man. I felt like a Bourbon Barrel Aged Hellfighter. It's actually a Porter and not a Stout. It's the same but different.

 

I'm drinking pecan brown from sib revelry.

Im sure France has bread way beyond my capability. But I will say from a family of professional bakers, you know that’s good bread because they dusted it after proofing before oven it has that texture just by looking at it. Unless grocery store bread is just getting good. Lmao. I couldn’t truly tell

I had a hunk of smoked lamb leg leftover from a St. Pat's Day diner that I froze. I ground it up and made a Shepard's Pie. I like when my wife works late, I get to make something I like.

I also get to use our good dishes.
