Creating a new thread for 2021...

What's coming to town near you? I feel like we haven't heard much from Henry & Fran (West Boylston?) recently, with their socials having been quiet for a few months. Roundhead Brewing (Hyde Park) looks to be on schedule for a Summer 2021 open. Looking forward to being able to grab new beers at new places!

No knowledge at all but I would fully support a new brewery in the Saugus, MA area.

Just thinking with the Covid restrictions there may be plenty of unused space in the Kowloon parking lot to build one!

Kowloon has been making money moves in their parking lot, showing movies, there's a tiki bar, etc. Hazy mai thais!

I've been curious about them too. I haven't heard anything from them since a year a so ago when they had an issue with a whole bunch of cans exploding, and they refused to do anything about it.

They made some real solid pastry beers, and even their IPAs were nice. Brewer was a super nice guy too.

There was a legendary thread about H&F and I believe it was locked. Out of curiosity I picked up a 4 pack of a H&F marshmallow-something-sour from Wachusett Spirits, good enough sure but it was $25. Haven’t had anything else from them since then.

They haven’t brewed anything since the end of last year, I was told they were upgrading the size of their tanks and improving their set up. They disappeared for a while on social media but posted for the first time in a while within the last week or so...hoping that means they will be up and running again soon.

Grabbed a few cans of H&F from John’s liquor in falmouth last summer, but I found them pretty underwhelming for the price. $8-9 a can adjunct kettle sours are not my thing.

I’d gladly pay top shelf for good lambics, just in case anyone is thinking of aging barrels in the Kowloon parking lot.

Finally got to visit Great Marsh in Essex. We tried the pale ale (very Sierra-esque), Belgian wit and Belgian tripel. All were tasty, although if I were going to nitpick, the carb was pretty low on the pale and wit. The view of the marsh/ atmosphere off the back patio was phenomenal. If they only served warm tap water I’d still go just for the view.

My wife and I visited Great Marsh on the way back from Rockport last year. We had the same experience, beer was good, nothing more, nothing less. Atmosphere, view, staff were all excellent though. So definitely worth a visit!
