    Good morning all,

Yes currently drinking a new to me Virginian IPA. From Hardywood brewery. Being a faithful customer at the beer store it cost me literally zero, nada. Very noice!

    Cheers!

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for starting the thread and for giving us some French(?) music. Since you're at least bilingual, how well does the English translation actually follow the lyrics - seems a bit surreal to me. Anyway, today's New Breakfast Beer:

Ho-hum. Another IPA. I'm beginning to understand about IPA burn-out - my current goal is to finish them off before I head to TX in the next week or so. Rating 3.59, rDev -14.7%.

@Ozzylizard Quite frankly I’m not even listening much to the lyrics from this indeed French band. They are good musically and I know when I put some effort to listening to the lyrics they also have some writing/poetry skills. Most of the time I listen to them during imbibe hours so that’s too much to ask me. Cheers.

[IMG] Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass canned on 4/13/21. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves thick streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.5

Aroma is fresh cantaloupe, peach, blueberry, papaya, tangerine, and apricot. Really nice. 4.5

Taste follows cantaloupe, blueberry, tangerine, papaya, peach, and apricot really well balanced and tasty. 4.5

Mouthfeel is above medium, not sticky or dry, soft gentle carbonation, and at 8.1% it is very easy drinking. 4.5

Overall I really dig this one, not sure if it is my favorite version of it, but it very well might be. Cheers all.4.5

Sorry - I didn't mean it as a pop quiz! The English translation just reminded me of my pre-cambrian junior high school Latin classes when I once translated a line as (more or less) "Blood dripped from the limbs of the trees". My Latin teacher said (while the class was rolling on the floor) "No, it's "The crowd waved their arms in the air in exultation".

An interesting collaboration between a polish and a Greek brewery giving birth to this quite interesting beer: a pastry sour with Pink Guava, Mango and cucumber:

Mountains Walking Brewery -- Chopping Wood - Doppelbock

    4.19/5 rDev -1.4%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Excellent brown body, clear and with nice carbonation; thick and frothy off-white head. Rich, toasted grain scent with subtle elements of chocolate, cocoa, and roasted nuts. Earthy sweetness blended with rich cocoa flavors; moderate bitterness towards the back-end. Heavy body; generally smooth; fine residual sugar presence; fairly sweet mouthfeel throughout.

Mountains Walking has produced a rich and delicious traditional doppelbock. It has a lot going for it and likely will be found quite enjoyable by fans of the beer style.

This local Imperial Stout kicks some serious butt. 60IBU & 10.1%ABV
The brewing news from MN does not.
I'm absolutely stunned at how downright dumb & stupid the beer laws are here.
I could stop buying local altogether with ease. But I won't. There's too much damn good beer out there! Could be worse I guess. Keep on smiling! Cheers friends!

Howdy folks, a little early lunch here. Mixed mezze with some lamb meatballs, pearl couscous, fixins and sauces, etc. And a Cumbre Hoplaunch IPA, as class is over and I'm rather free from committee work today. Mercifully. This beer isn't bad, like a lighter alt-hop elevated, but I don't find it has much....what... character? I'll mull it over.

    Cheers!
