First I want to make it clear that I'm not calling anyone out. But I'm wondering if other traders have the same reaction I do. There are always 3-6 traders that post several times a week a "ISO: List FT: List". Generally these lists have the same or close to the same beers on them. I wonder if these traders know they're doing themselves a disservice. Once I've clicked on their list once or twice I file them away as "don't bother" & won't click on their posts again. Because, why? I've seen it. And if the traders are making a significantly different offer, I'll never see it. Over the years there has been a "just need the right pair of eyes" argument made for trading but this behavior is causing the opposite for this pair of eyes. Do others do this as well or is it just me?
Hi, I'm guessing I'm one of those users that you may be referring to. I honestly didn't think it really bothered anyone, so I never thought too much about it. Sorry if it bothers you, I'll be mindful of it in the future. Just from my perspective though, I feel I've had better luck with that format even if it seems spammy or lazy. If you just look at the # of views on the post, I probably get 4-5x more for a post with that format than if I listed my specific FT or ISO. I probably also picked up this habit back when trading was much more active and it was one of the ways to get the right set of eyes. Nowadays, trade posts will stay on the first page for at least a couple days, so it may seems like it's always there.
I definitely wouldn’t blame anyone for posting too much. I know several people that post frequently (maybe myself included?) We all trade frequently and seriously. It’s harmless and if you’re seeing it too much I think a slow moving forum is to blame.
I’ve seen it and haven’t been offended. The list typically changes some each time and I like the style somewhat because instead of specific FT it gives options. I sometimes don’t look at trades even ones I have because I either have their FT or have no interest in what they list FT. So more options makes me more likely to look and consider. now I know I’m not a big trader but that’s my opinion.
Doesn't bother me at all nor am I offended by it. Just wondering if people start skipping over them as they recognize the poster & assume the lists are going to be the same or very similar.
