Monkish Brewing (2021)

Sorry...as someone who has been with Monkish since the day they opened, this hit a soft spot for me. They don't do as many Belgian style ales as they used to. Feminist gets canned occasionally. I think Anomaly has been canned once. They semi-frequently can lagers, but the only Belgian-esque stuff that gets packaged now are their sour beers, which are bottled. Incognito Ghetto Eagle is probably the most frequently packaged

 

Thank you for answering my question. Their IG advertises the brewery as a Belgian Style brewery. So that is a little confusing. Do you think they turned the corner on these styles because of the supply/demand theory?

***EDIT*** Correction. Their IG advertises the brewery as a "Belgian-ish & IPA-ish beers" but I think the latter is more frequent than the former.

 

It is. And, to be fair, their non-Belgian style beers are really good. Once they started making IPAs, they blew up. If you're looking for other breweries in the LA area doing some Belgian style beers, Beachwood Blendery and Homage Brewing are both fantastic

Does anyone have any idea if and when the taproom will open? Also their Anaheim location?

 

My guess is the Torrance taproom isn't reopening until at least June 15th

 

End of summer for Anaheim location. August-October.

 

Monkish (Torrance) is now doing walkup sales in addition to online

 

It'll be a matter of time the tasting room will be open. June 15?

I just hope the can drop procedure remains the SAME once Torrance reopens ... nice to order online and cruise down there within a few hours.

 

It’s been ridiculously nice having mixed cases available for days. And mixed cases in general. Really hope they continue with having 3+ beers per case. I don’t need 12/24 cans of the same beer.

Would love the ability to mix and match all the available cans to build a case but I won’t get greedy.

I think it might be production has gone up? Tap room isn’t open so it all goes in cans.

 

I think JLocoMoco is more correct on the production. I’m sure we’ll see a lot more when the Anaheim location opens.

 

4 different mixed 24 packs available yesterday after the Holiday for shipping, surprised. Variety is nice. Had a few Nelson beers this week.

Went in with a friend since they ship to Norcal.

Shipping seems more then when I ordered a few months back though. Still GLS.

 

Had a few Monkish mixed cases get delivered up to Norcal.

Sticky Traffic was real good. Nelson was upfront, but still that Monkish Galaxy/Citra mix profile as well.

 

Social Growth DDH DIPA. Again, real good, Citra and Riwaka.
