    Good morning all,

Just opened this iconic Dutch beer, La Trappe Quadrupel. Outside of the NL it’s arguably one of the best Quad in the world. Big one too at 10%.

    Cheers!

Starting the day with a light beer, dark coffee, and a heavier book...

Anheuser-Busch, Inc. -- Bud Light (crud lite)

Hanging out with the baby this morning while I cook breakfast. No gasoline to be had around me so I guess I’ll be at the house all day, until I have to get my daughter from school. I may be back with another beer later.

    Goodmorning everyone !

La Casa di Cura (ITA) - Tripel XMAS - Tripel (9,5%)

Tripel with candied sugar, Millefiori honey and star anise, orange peel and cinnamon added during boiling.
    Deadline 11/2023.
Discreet foam that acts as a hat to a dark golden yellow beer.
Sweet, caramelized and warm notes on the nose.
In the mouth there is a great variety of aromas which, depending on the temperature of the beer, change from time to time the predominance with remarkable balance.
Honey, molasses, candied sugar, peach in syrup, pandoro flavor. Quite dry finish, but on the palate it tastes like honey as if you had just eaten a spoonful.
Warm, well-hidden alcoholic note that emerges at the end of the sip to complete the gustatory path and give the right character to this Tripel.

    Sláinte !
    Cheers !

Very nice. Silky. A ton of papaya in here. This “hazy ipa” is still very different from their NeIPA.

Starting off today with 10 Barrel Crush Raspberry Sour. This is a nice one. Smells and tastes of strong, tart raspberries. But you can still tell it's a beer through all of the fruit as there are plenty of sour characteristics. A really good beer for a hot day. Shame it's still cool here.

For some reason we seem to get a number of Colorado beers these days more easily (on the shelves), Great Divide and Oskar Blues for instance. I’m the last one to complain about it... Can o Bliss IPA Citrus IPA.

In my glass now is a real treat. Half Acre Original Reaper Stout. They create a lot of rich malty goodness, milk chocolate and caramel without adjuncts or lactose. That seems like a rare achievement these days. Thumbs up to the folks at Half Acre.

Batting third today is Dogfish Head Super Eight Super Gose. It's chock full of unidentifiable berries. It's also got a little pucker to it. It's good, not great. Although Wifey loved it. Her new favorite thing is fruited sours. She can't get enough.

Flying Dog Double Dog double IPA is what beer I'm drinking now. It's 12%, so calling this one a Double IPA might be a bit of an understatement. But it's still really good. Boozy, piney, candied fruits. I wish I got more than one, although one might be just the right number to have.

    Schell's Cream Ale
    L: 3.75
    S: 3.5
    T: 4.0
    F: 3.75
    Final: 3.8
    (or so)
12oz can best by 06/05/21. Fresh!
Pours a little hazy with a firm white head. Some lacing.
Nose is grain and a touch of yeast.
Taste is very hoppy for the style, sour and a little bready. Med long finish. It does taste good and fresh.
Mouth feel is a light sour lightly hazed session IPA with a splash of cream. It's not creamy. A little bit farmhouse or wild. There's a tiny Belgian angle in it. Not bad but misleading IMHO that it's a cream ale. Very little lactose yet it does soften/breathe a little over time. It's a good tasting beer. Cheers!

    It's weekend for me :-)

I can't describe how much I love this beer. If you ask me, this is one of the best Bocks out of Germany.
