Good morning advocates and hoppy Sunday!

I got out of bed pretty early and have decided to purchase a couple of beers, because as y’all say, you can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning. :grinning:

    St Bernardus Prior 8. Cheers!

Good morning BAs! I slept with the windows open for the first time since, well since I was home last October. Starting this cool drizzly morning with an imperial coffee stout courtesy of @mickyge - “Sunday Paper” by Exhibit “A” Brewing Company, Framingham, MA:

Canned 12/16/20. Poured at 52°. Tasty! Strong roasted coffee beans nose. Chocolate malt and espresso taste. No warmth from 9.9% abv. Quite enjoyable this dreary southern West Virginia morning. Thanks Mike! Cheers and have a great Sunday y’all!

Good morning advocates. Staring my day off with a Central Waters BBA Scotch Ale. Really enjoying the cool morning sipping on this one.

    Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

My mother in law passed away last night. I just woke up on the basement futon and I know I’m going to be scrambling for a while now because she was my wife’s best friend. Wish me luck, advocates. [IMG]

Started this beautiful, cool Sunday morning the way I am wont to start many a weekend/holiday with a cold glass of Schöffehofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen. It really is a bit like a Mimosa:

Sorry about you Mom. Mine passed a number of years ago and it's still hard. The passage of time does help.

More coffee this drizzly day...a cellar pull from the below ground basement, a beer I stashed a couple of years ago when they were hard to find - KBS:

Bottled 2/15/18. Poured at 53°. ABV 12.31%. Bourbon with chocolate right behind. The coffee has faded, present but barely accounted for...no oxidation, no off flavors; yet, I believe I prefer “fresher” where I get to enjoy the coffee. Some roast bitterness in the linger. A classic that held up well. Cheers y’all!

Sorry about your loss @mschrei , my condolences to you and your family. Between your posts last night and today, sounds like she was an exceptional woman. Nice to read yesterday your experience both with the Flashback show and concerts. I unfortunately did not catch the BoDeans that year, but very grateful to catch them years later, an incredible band. Was able to catch U2's Joshua Tree tour, worked three consecutive shows at the Rosemont Horizon. Was a huge U2 fan, love their songs through that album.

One beer is enough when you pull this one from the refrigerator. Cross post with New Beer Sunday #846, embedded in the New Beer Weekend thread.

    Half Acre XTRADUBL Benthic 2020

Long story short, this is a solid stout, though the coconut overwhelms both the coffee and barrel. Pro tip, pick up Benthic and you're set.

Sorry to hear about your experience last night @champ103 . Hope to catch live Jazz this Summer, and hope your next experience is much improved.

Also, best wishes on your performance today @tasterschoice62 ! I know you'll kill it, like you do on your performances posted here!

Good morning, Advocates! I plan on reviewing two new-to-me Transient imperial porters today as part of New Beer Weekend. In case you missed it, NBW is where some of us get together and share our experiences with beers that are new - to us. It might be a SMASH hazy from some hyper-local nano-brewery, or it might be a can of Bud Ice you found in your buddy's fridge from 1998 - as long as it's something you're personally trying for the first time, it qualifies.

So if you feel like pulling up a stool at the virtual bar, and telling us a little bit about how this new-to-you beer smells, tastes, and feels (and more importantly, do you like it? :stuck_out_tongue:), why not swing by and join us?

My first new beer today is Transient's It's All Relative, an imperial porter that clocks in at 11% ABV. It will be live on NBW once I've had time to sit and fully review it.

Going light on the lunch beer -
    Terrapin’s “Recreational Ale”:

Cal: 99 ABV: 4.2%. I brought a 5x8 Uhual full of stuff from storage in FL, and from my sister in law’s garage in SC with me...In between the rain I’m about 1/3rd empty this morning...I’m getting too old to play solo mover guy...Cheers!

Happy Sunday BA's! @mschrei sorry to read that your MIL passed. Hopefully you had many quality times with her and the family. Letting the Baby warm up as I knock down a 2nd blood mary as brunch prep begins.
