Pulled this from the cellar and found the aging to be beneficial. Very Barrel forward yet pretty drinkable. Stout season never dies

Good day BAs! Looks like we might have a sunny day here in the SAT area finally - I arrived in a rainstorm and it's rained every day since, except yesterday when it threatened most of the day. Today's New Breakfast Beer is semi-local:

I spent time yesterday with @Thankin_Hank and his family. Really enjoyed meeting them.
Today I'm picking my wife up at the airport. Can't wait!

Good morning BAs! I’ve been getting up with the birds (5am ish) and working on/in this old house we inherited. Break time - Trappistes Rochefort 10:

Bottled 8/18/10. In the basement cellar for at least 7-8 years. Poured at 55°. No oxidation, no off flavors. Fruity nose. Sweet prunes, caramel, figs. The old leather nose/dirt and tobacco flavors are missing; i.e., less complex. Past it’s prime but still good.

I got the camper ready for this weekend’s trip, and had an epic beer share last night and made new in-person friends. Today will be more going through my parents’ stuff and boxing it up... Cheers and have a great day y’all!

I don't usually drink beer this early in the morning, but when I do it's for a homeschool science experiment.

One can of Hamms-drinking this wasn't even the funnest part of the experiment...

Put a little water in the empty can and heat to boiling...

Quickly turn upside down and dunk in ice-cold water...

Imploded Hamms can. The Ideal Gas Law at work! Hope your day is this exciting. Cheers!

    Edit: Conversation afterwards...
My boys: Let's do it again!
Me: We don't have any more cans.
Boys: You could drink another beer.
    Me:

Morning, BAs! A few of my fellow NBS BIFers have been enjoying this one (or perhaps a variant) thanks to @ovaltine - I managed to grab a couple bottles at my "local," and since I'm right back at the housework I started yesterday, I may as well join in.

Have a good Thursday. Got a 50 hour week in the bank, but not going out tonight. Worked over 9 today. Got 2 orders from adventures in homebrewing. Haven't made a beer or mead for 4 years at least. Shandy was on sale, surprised Maize is there. Would prefer raw wheat. Need to clean the lines and check the shed wiring load. Then I can just serve it there. Need tap covers though.
