    Thought someone else would post this but almost halfway through the year...
    Brad Clark, former head brewer of Jackie O’s in Ohio created a club-only barrel-aged barleywine and stout club based out of Santa Cruz, ca.
    Q4 bottles of the first membership year will come out in about a month.

    I’ve kind of changed my mind on this thread.
    I figure this is a small membership-only operation, and most of the people interested are already members & have access to this info.

    Do they have a Santa Cruz presence, or is this only a take out, delivery release sort of club? What I mean, is do they have a presence in SC where you can buy and/sample beer?

    It’s a membership only brewery that doesn’t have a taproom, kind of like Horus. You can pick up directly in Santa Cruz and I’ve heard some members getting tasting previews before the actual release.

    There’s no tasting room or anything. If even a few people seem genuinely interested I can update it. I’ve got the free time sadly.
    The talk of people getting samples is unsubstantiated and I cannot verify.
    I will continue to update because I love beeradvocate and would be happy to update if people actually care.

    Is there any indication to the members that there's any kind of plan to expand their presence? Seemed pretty set on the current model for at least a couple years but I'd love to be able to visit a tasting room in the Santa Cruz area some day. He made some really nice ba beers at Jackie Os

    Anyone willing to share their opinion of this membership? I'm on the wait list and would appreciate any input on current member's experience thus far, just in case I'm lucky enough to get in.

    True. He’s made some amazing brews at Jackie O’s and continues to expand his horizons. He doesn’t have any official tasting room or plans to open anything similar. I will continue to post updates because people seem to have taken an interest. I feel like if beer advocates are genuinely interested I’ll post updates. :beers:

    Definitely worth it to stay on the wait list. If you are a fan of world-class barrel aged bw or imperial stouts this membership is golden.

    I sure am! And I would assume as time goes on and he has more aged barrels to blend with, the better things will get. Hope I get in...
    I'm in Socal though, does he allow proxies for pick up?

    I'm a member and I am really enjoying this membership. Brad is on top of letting members know what's happening. The bottles have been good to excellent and keep getting better. Already had an extra bottle that wasn't mentioned before, and throwing out another bottle for members for Q4. I will be definitely renewing my membership.
